The Paley Center for Media Announces Upcoming Public Programs Spotlighting Comedies "The Goldbergs" and "Key & Peele"

Both events to include exclusive screenings and behind-the-scenes conversations with the casts and creative teams

BEVERLY HILLS, CA, April 03, 2014 - On the heels of its recently concluded 31st annual PALEYFEST, The Paley Center for Media today announced two public programs: "The Goldbergs: Your TV Trip to the 1980s" on Monday, April 28, 2014 and "An Evening with Key & Peele" on Monday, June 9, 2014, both at the Center's Beverly Hills location.

"The Goldbergs: Your TV Trip to the 1980s" will feature an exclusive screening of a new episode, followed by a conversation with the following members of the cast and creative team scheduled to attend: Wendi McLendon-Covey, Jeff Garlin, George Segal, Troy Gentile, Hayley Orrantia and creator/executive producer Adam F. Goldberg.

In a season chockfull of new family comedies, ABC's The Goldbergs is a standout. Based on the life of its creator, Adam F. Goldberg, it's a relatable story of a loud, but loving family - three sibs and their smothering mother, blustering father, and dapper grandfather - in the "pre-blogging, pre-peanut allergy" 1980s. The Goldbergs is equal parts The Wonder Years and Malcolm in the Middle - with a nod to its obvious progenitor: Gertrude Berg's pioneering gemtlich radio and television show of the same name about a (very different) middle-class family.

In anticipation of the series' season 4 debut this fall, the stars of Comedy Central's original sketch comedy series Key & Peele, Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, will take the Paley Center stage for a special clip-filled conversation with moderator Patton Oswalt.

The show recently garnered a Peabody Award and has been hailed by critics and audiences alike. The San Francisco Chronicle called it "insanely brilliant," and fans including President Barack Obama, can't get enough of this provocative, and wholly original series. Driven by a unique comedic perspective and the hilarious chemistry of its two stars - Key & Peele's irreverent take on everything from Les Misérables to Civil War Reenactments and the College Bowl has made it one of the most influential and talked about series on the air today.

Tickets to both events will go on sale to Paley Center's Patron members on Thursday, April 3, to Paley Center's General members on Friday, April 4, and to the general public on Saturday, April 5. Further information and tickets to the programs can be found at www.paleycenter.org.

The Paley Center's public programs attract a growing community of television fans who gather to connect with the stars and creators of their favorite series during interactive panel sessions and premiere screenings. These events underscore The Paley Center for Media's ongoing commitment to increase the public's understanding of media and its growing significance in our lives through its various public and industry programs, exhibitions, and education and media preservation initiatives.
