NBCSN Will Present More Than 40 Hours of IIHF World Championship Coverage, Including All Team USA Games

STAMFORD, Conn. - April 23, 2014 - NBC Sports Group will present live coverage of all Team USA games next month from the 2014 IIHF World Championship in Minsk, Belarus, part of more than 40 hours of coverage on NBCSN. NBC Sports Live Extra - NBC Sports Group's live streaming product for desktops, mobile devices, and tablets - will stream all NBCSN content.

Live coverage begins on NBCSN on Friday, May 9 at 1:30 p.m. ET when Team USA faces Belarus in the first of seven preliminary-round matches, which will all air live on NBCSN. Team USA, earned a bronze medal at the 2013 IIHF World Championship, and will also face 2013 runner-up Switzerland, Russia and Finland in the preliminary round.

In addition, NBCSN will present coverage of the quarterfinals, semifinals, and the 2014 IIHF Championship game, which will air live on Sunday, May 25 at 2 p.m. ET.

The 2014 IIHF World Championship marks the 78th installation of the tournament, which began in 1920. The results of the IIHF World Championship, along with Winter Olympics ice hockey results, help determine the IIHF World Ranking for top men's ice hockey teams in the world.
