CARRIE UNDERWOOD HONORS MILITARY SERVICEMEN AND WOMEN WITH SONG WRITTEN SPECIFICALLY FOR "ACM PRESENTS: AN ALL-STAR SALUTE TO THE TROOPS," TO BE BROADCAST TUESDAY, MAY 20 ON THE CBS TELEVISION NETWORK

"Keep Us Safe" to Premiere on the Concert Special, With Downloads of the Song Benefiting ACM Lifting Lives(R)

Carrie Underwood, an 11-time Academy of Country Music Awards winner, co-penned a song specifically for the Academy's military tribute show, ACM PRESENTS: AN ALL-STAR SALUTE TO THE TROOPS. Her performance of the song, "Keep Us Safe," will debut during the concert event, which will be broadcast Tuesday, May 20 (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

To coincide with her performance, the song will be available digitally, with proceeds benefiting ACM Lifting Lives(R).

"When we were approached to be a part of the show," Underwood shared, "I was so excited to do something to honor our troops, and because ACM Lifting Lives does such great work. I wanted to take the time to really think about what song I wanted to perform. I had a writing session scheduled with my co-writers and friends Hillary Lindsey, Luke Laird and Shane McAnally, and I guess the show was weighing on my mind. I think we all left the session knowing the song was special, because it basically wrote itself that day!"

In addition to being a three-time ACM Top Female Vocalist, in 2010 Underwood became the first female artist to win ACM Entertainer of the Year twice.

In honor of Armed Forces Day (May 17) observances, ACM PRESENTS: AN ALL-STAR SALUTE TO THE TROOPS, co-hosted by LL COOL J and Chris O'Donnell, features performers Dierks Bentley, Lee Brice, Luke Bryan, Merle Haggard, Hunter Hayes, Toby Keith, Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, Kellie Pickler, Blake Shelton, George Strait, Keith Urban, Eli Young Band, Florida Georgia Line, Lady Antebellum, Rascal Flatts and The Band Perry paying tribute to our country's remarkable all-volunteer military force.
