BAD JUDGE (NBC/Universal; W: Adam McKay, Chad Kultgen & Chris Henchy; D: Andrew Fleming) - Liz Brixius ("Nurse Jackie") has been tapped as showrunner of the upcoming comedy, about Rebecca Wright (Kate Walsh), a hard-living, sexually unapologetic woman who plays with the law, despite the fact she also happens to be a judge in the criminal court system. In addition, roles originally played by Mather Zickel and Arden Myrin are being recast. Zickel was featured as Gary, "a psychiatrist who has an on-again, off-again relationship with Rebecca"; with Myrin as Jenny, "Rebecca's best friend who is privy to all the details of Rebecca's scattered, tumultuous romantic life." CONTROL ALT DELETE (Showtime, New!) - Simeon Goulden ("Spy") has set up a potential comedy at the pay channel about "four smartass, workaholic associates in a white shoe law firm who are feverishly trying to move up the corporate ladder while avoiding becoming the next victim of the office serial killer." Jason Winer is also on board to direct and executive produce via his 20th Century Fox Television-based Small Dog Picture Co. The company's Renate Radford as well as Chernin Entertainment's Peter Chernin and Katherine Pope likewise will executive produce. (Deadline.com)
INK SHRINKS (Spike TV) - Toby Barraud and Stefan Springman's Eastern have scored a pilot order for a new series in which "a forward-thinking team of artists, psychologists and other professionals who prescribe 'blind' tattoos as a means of healing. After discussing their clients' issues, the team will design a unique tattoo to help jump start the mending process. The clients put their faith in the 'ink shrinks' as they won't know what their tattoo looks like until the session is complete and the artwork is irreversible." The project will originate as a half-hour special set to air this fall. (Deadline.com)
IZOMBIE (The CW/Warner Bros.; W: Diane Ruggiero & Rob Thomas; D: Rob Thomas) - Producers reportedly plans to recast the role of Peyton Charles in the midseason drama, about Olivia "Liv" Moore (Rose McIver), a med student-turned-zombie who takes a job in the coroner's office to gain access to the brains she must reluctantly eat to maintain her humanity, but with each brain she consumes, she inherits the corpse's memories. Alexandra Krosney originated the part, Liv's best friend and roommate, who still has the high-energy, Type-A personality that Liv has completely abandoned. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED MAJOR CRIMES SPIN-OFF PROJECT (TNT, New!) - Jon Tenney's Fritz Howard is being eyed for a potential spin-off of "Major Crimes," due to be set up in the seventh episode of the show's upcoming third season. Said effort will also introduce Special Operations Bureau commander Ann McGinnis, "described as a modern-day Annie Oakle," and could prominently feature Malcolm-Jamal Warner's Lt. Chuck Cooper. No other details were given. (TVLine.com)
AND IN OTHER NEWS... - Amir Arison's Aram Mojtabai has been upped to series regular on "The Blacklist" for its second season (Deadline.com); and Chloe Sevigny and Steven Pasquale will both recur on Netflix's upcoming drama from Todd A. Kessler, Daniel Zelman and Glenn Kessler as romantic interests for Ben Mendelsohn and Linda Cardellini's characters (Deadline.com).
