HGTV's "My Big Family Renovation" Chronicles Hatmaker Family's Total Home Renovation

HGTV's "MY BIG FAMILY RENOVATION" CHRONICLES HATMAKER FAMILY'S TOTAL HOME RENOVATION

NEW YORK [For Immediate Release - June 20, 2014] Popular mommy blogger Jen Hatmaker and her husband Brandon, a motorcycle-riding pastor, star alongside their five kids in HGTV's newest home renovation series, My Big Family Renovation. Premiering on Thursday, August 7, at 11 p.m. ET/PT, the series chronicles the Hatmaker family as they sell their home and embark on the biggest adventure of their lives -- buying a 105-year old farm house that requires them to pitch in and live through its major overhaul. The renovation includes the addition of bathrooms and a rec room as well as the conversion of old attic space into bedrooms. Beginning in July, HGTV.com will feature behind-the-scenes photo galleries of the renovation and series highlights as well as links to posts from Jen's blog, www.jenhatmaker.com.

"With a family our size, we always have drama," said Jen. "But we had no idea the type of stress we would endure when we decided to take on a massive home renovation."

Jen and Brandon want the home completed as quickly as possible, but with five kids, looming deadlines and major issues with the old farm house, it's a challenge to transform it into an open floor plan, six-bedroom home that they'll love.

"We fell in love with the Hatmaker family right away. They wanted to treat this farmhouse renovation as a fun, family adventure - and these are the reasons that viewers are going to enjoy this show," said Steven Lerner, senior vice president, programing and production, HGTV and DIY Network.
