LOS ANGELES, CA (JULY 11, 2014) - From titans of the industry working with aspiring musicians to artists from various genres coming together on one stage, VH1 hits a high note with its upcoming slate of Wednesday night programming. On Wednesday, July 16 at 9:00 PM* VH1 debuts "Behind The Music: Linda Perry," the newest installment in its celebrated series which reveals the trials behind the success of singer and Grammy-nominated songwriter Linda Perry. Immediately following on Wednesday, July 16 at 10:00 PM*, VH1 captures the master producer at work with the premiere of "Make or Break: The Linda Perry Project" a new series in which Linda Perry mentors a group of young, aspiring musicians as they work to achieve their dream of superstardom. Then on Wednesday, July 23 and Wednesday, July 30 at 9:00* PM, VH1 + Palladia will premiere the new music performance series "Soundclash." This series unites established and emerging artists onstage, re-creating the experience of attending a musical festival and offering the chance to see your favorite artists performing live.

In this latest episode of VH1's iconic bio series, Linda Perry candidly reveals, for the first time publically, the mental and physical abuse she suffered as a child. She turned her angst into emotionally charged songs and soared to rock stardom as the lead singer of 4 Non Blondes. But at her peak, Linda quit the band and fell into a heroin habit. However, she went on to reinvent herself as a producer and songwriter for the stars, penning hits for Pink, Alicia Keys, Gwen Stefani, and her greatest triumph, "Beautiful" for Christina Aguilera. She also started her own label, and was the first to sign and break British singer-songwriter James Blunt in the United States. Along with her professional success, Linda also found solace in her personal life, falling in love and marrying her partner and soulmate, actress Sara Gilbert. This episode features interviews with Sara, Pink, Christina Aguilera and Courtney Love.

"Behind the Music: Linda Perry" is executive produced for VH1 by Susan Levison, Brad Abramson and Stephen Mintz, with Mary Wharton producing. Executives in charge of music talent for VH1 are Rick Krim and Leah Horwitz.

Linda Perry is a legendary musician, songwriter, and record producer, whose career in the business spans nearly 25 years. She has found success in the spotlight as the lead singer and primary songwriter of the group 4 Non Blondes, and behind the scenes as a composer, producer, as well as the founder of both a record label and a publishing company. From the producers of "VH1 Couples Therapy" and "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew," "Make or Break: The Linda Perry Project," will open the doors to this music heavyweight's Hollywood studio for the first time ever as she works to re-launch her record label, Custard, and mentor a talented group of young artists - one of whom she plans to sign to her label. For these musicians, "The Linda Perry Project" is an unbelievable opportunity to prove themselves to a genuine music mogul who has composed and produced hit songs for some of the biggest names in music.

"Make or Break: The Linda Perry Project" is executive produced by John Irwin, Damian Sullivan, Rob Buchta, and Mark Herwick for Irwin Entertainment. Susan Levison, Rick Krim, Jill Holmes, Leah Horwitz, Fernando Mills and Laurel Stier serve as executive producers for VH1. Linda Perry also serves as executive producer.

Imagine the pulsating energy of the music festival experience, combined with the rush of seeing your favorite band perform their biggest hits live - this is "SoundClash," VH1 and Palladia's innovative new series that unites a variety of musical acts onstage. Executive produced by Ahmir "?uestLove" Thompson and hosted by DJ/producer, Mad Decent founder and Grammy Award-nominee Diplo, each one-hour show seamlessly weaves together continuous musical performances with artist and band interviews for an all-encompassing audiovisual experience. The series' inaugural episode on Wednesday, July 23rd will feature Grammy Award-nominated, and three-time VMA winner Fall Out Boy with three-time Grammy Award-winning and multi-platinum selling rapper T.I., and up-and-coming British trip-hop group London Grammar rounding out the trio on the SoundClash stage. The second episode premiering on Wednesday, July 30th has the Brit-born, Grammy Award-nominated global sensation Ed Sheeran joining up with Grammy Award-nominated Australian global hitmaker/singer/producer Sia, with the emerging US-based rockers Grouplove.

Future episodes of VH1's "SoundClash" will match up of some of the world's most iconic (and diverse) performers for what promises to be a historic series delivering extraordinary performances and buzzworthy moments.

VH1's SoundClash is executive produced by Shawn Gee, Jac Benson of Blacjac Entertainment, and Ahmir "?uestLove" Thompson and Tarik "Black Thought" Trotter of The Roots. Executive producing for VH1 are Lee Rolontz and Sandy Alouete.
