NEW YORK, NY (August 6, 2014) - VH1 is celebrating with R&B star and "Love & Hip Hop" fan favorite K.Michelle as she brings her latest album Rebellious Soul to the screen with the premiere of "K.Michelle: Rebellious Soul - The Musical." Premiering Tuesday, August 19 at 10PM*, the dark, cautionary tale is directed by Golden Globe Award-winning actor Idris Elba. Taking center stage in this 'hip hopera,' K.Michelle's powerful ballads capture the lust, love, heartache and redemption of a fierce woman struggling to break the cycle of bad romance. What will be her fate when she catches her man in a lie and her past comes back to haunt her?

The musical features 9 songs from the Rebellious Soul album, which debuted as #1 on Billboard's "Top R&B/ Hip Hop Albums," in an explosive theatrical presentation, showcasing her fierce songwriting and stunning voice.

Also this month on VH1, catch the broadcast world premiere of the music video for K.Michelle's song "Damn" on VH1 Top 20 Countdown Saturday, August 16th at 9:00 AM ET/ PT. An original cast member of VH1's "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta" and later joining the cast of "Love & Hip Hop New York," Atlantic Records' artist K.Michelle celebrated her blockbuster album, Rebellious Soul by headlining "The Rebellious Soul Tour" late last year and opening for Robin Thicke on his "Blurred Lines Tour" in 2014. Rebellious Soul is highlighted by the hit singles, "V.S.O.P." and "Can't Raise A Man."

K.Michelle is also working on her show "K.Michelle: My Life" with VH1 in November 2014.
