DESINTATION AMERICA RETURNS TO THE LAND OF THE FREE WITH AN ALL-NEW SEASON OF "BUYING ALASKA"

(Silver Spring, Md.) - Just in time for the change of the season, Destination America is bringing back the originator of its popular "Buying" franchise with a third season of BUYING ALASKA. This series proves that, for the most adventurous of Americans, forgoing basic amenities is a reasonable tradeoff for stunning surroundings that can't be found anywhere in the Lower 48. Follow along as families tour properties with much more to offer than just normal living quarters -- an extraordinary Alaskan landscape, simplified lifestyle, and proximity to nature. From the ability to hunt and fish off your back deck to extreme seclusion on your own private island, Alaska offers it all. Living in this rugged and remote terrain is not for the faint of heart, but paradise awaits for homeowners seeking an adventure. The 30-episode third season of BUYING ALASKA premieres Saturday, September 6 at 9/8c and 9:30/8:30c on Destination America.

"BUYING ALASKA offers viewers an escape of their day-to-day lives to explore the rugged and adventurous real estate of The Last Frontier," said Marc Etkind, general manager of Destination America. "With creativity and tenacity, these homeowners are ready to live hours away from the nearest town to enjoy what our American landscape has to offer."

On this season of BUYING ALASKA, join families on the hunt for their perfect Alaskan abode with homes ranging from off-the-grid cabins to magnificent log mansions, and find out how realtors respond to out-of-the-ordinary requests like one house hunter who seeks an outhouse without doors to clearly spot nearby grizzles roaming their property. BUYING ALASKA offers spectacular views, exploratory wildlife and audacious real estate.

The first two episodes are:

· Cabin Upgrade Premieres Saturday, September 6 at 9/8c

Todd and Kristy have been living in a dry cabin in Talkeetna, Alaska, for over a decade. Now that their two sons are getting older, they need to upgrade to a bigger home... one that has running water and electricity. Will a new location mean a new lifestyle?

· Flip Flops and Snow Shoes Premieres Saturday, September 6 at 9:30/10:30c

Florida natives Michael and Miranda have just moved to Alaska. Life in the Last Frontier will be nothing like what they left behind in the Sunshine State and they'll miss the sunny beach, but they're up for the adventure.

BUYING ALASKA is produced for Destination America by Paper Route Productions with Al LaGarde and Sumit David as executive producers. For Destination America, Fay Yu is executive producer, Sara Kozak is senior vice president of production, Marc Etkind is general manager, and Henry Schleiff is Group President of Investigation Discovery, Destination America, American Heroes Channel and Discovery Fit & Health.
