FOX SPORTS LAUNCHES COLLEGE FOOTBALL CAMPAIGN "APOLOGIZING" FOR SCHEDULING TOO MANY GREAT GAMES

In Full-Page Ad in New York Times and New York Post, Apologies Extended to Neglected Loved Ones, Pets

New York - With an abundance of top-flight college football games scheduled this season, in fact its best schedule ever, FOX Sports today launches a nationwide campaign aimed at family, friends, colleagues, and yes - even pets - of college football fans, apologizing for the relationship stress it's creating. Using full-page ads in the New York Times and New York Post, coupled with a long-form video documenting one family's struggle, FOX Sports seeks forgiveness for adding even more exciting college football action to already packed Saturdays.

With more than 100 games set to air across national and regional channels, including the FOX broadcast network and FOX Sports 1, plus a new primetime pregame show, FOX Sports is aware of the ramifications of its actions and is sorry for ruining plans and relationships from late August through early December.

"We know the repercussions of our actions," FOX Sports' statement in the Times and Post reads. "Scorned lovers. Lonely pets. Unvisited grandparents." The list goes on and on. FOX Sports is truly sorry for all the football. Click here to read the full statement.

"This year's schedule has our best games ever, and we realize that because of this, college football fans are going to be spending more time with us than with their friends and family this fall," said Robert Gottlieb, Executive Vice President, Head of Marketing, FOX Sports. "This campaign aims to reach out to those neglected individuals - and animals - and let them know that we're very sorry."

FOX Sports' extensive college football coverage begins Thursday, Aug. 28, with four straight nights of action, beginning with Rutgers vs. Washington State at CenturyLink Field in Seattle at 10:00 PM ET on FOX Sports 1. The first weekend also features Colorado State vs. Colorado on Friday, Aug. 29 (9:00 PM ET) on FOX Sports 1, Fresno State at No. 15 USC on Saturday, Aug. 30 (7:30 PM ET) on FOX and a special Sunday matchup of SMU at No. 10 Baylor on Sunday, Aug. 31 (7:30 PM ET) on FOX Sports 1. Other games sure to ruin plans include No. 8 Michigan State at No. 4 Oregon on Saturday, Sept. 6 (6:30 PM ET) and No. 7 UCLA vs. No. 24 Texas on Saturday, Sept. 13 (8:00 PM ET), both on FOX.

Not only is FOX Sports airing its best schedule of games yet, its expanded roster of college football experts makes it nearly impossible for fans to tear themselves away from their television sets. In addition to favorites like Gus Johnson, Charles Davis and Joel Klatt, new broadcasters such as Dave Wannstedt and Tim Brando and insiders Bruce Feldman, Stewart Mandel and Clay Travis make FOX Sports the ultimate destination for college football fans this fall.
