LOS ANGELES - Sept. 2, 2014 - The fifth season of THE TALK will kick off with a special two-week premiere event beginning Monday, Sept. 8 (2:00-3:00 PM, ET; 1:00-2:00 PM, PT/CT) on the CBS Television Network. In what promises to be their boldest premiere yet, the hosts will face their biggest fears, reveal intimate secrets and, for the first time, live-tweet during the show.

Beginning Monday, Sept. 8, each day Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Aisha Tyler and Sheryl Underwood will be challenged to face their worst fears and phobias and see if they will be able to conquer them. Last season, the ladies' unexpected revelations included what is now a famous one-night stand, a controversial plastic surgery procedure and struggles with infertility.

The show will continue to engage viewers on multiple social media platforms throughout the season, and for the first time, the hosts will live-tweet throughout the two week premiere event. Additionally, fans will now be able to use Instagram to upload their own videos using #EverybodyTalks, with the possibility of them appearing on air during the live broadcast.

The ladies will also be joined by celebrity guests, including Academy Award winners Morgan Freeman and Jane Fonda, comedian George Lopez, actor Shemar Moore (CBS's CRIMINAL MINDS and THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS), the incomparable Judge Judy Sheindlin, Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner Tom Selleck (CBS's BLUE BLOODS), comedian and Emmy Award winner Wanda Sykes, Grammy Award winner Smokey Robinson, and former NFL player, CBS Sports Analyst for THE NFL TODAY and THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL contributor Tony Gonzalez.

CBS's THE TALK, recently nominated for five Daytime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Talk Show-Entertainment and Outstanding Talk Show Host, features a panel of well-known news and entertainment personalities who examine current events, pop culture, contemporary issues, family, celebrity and the trending topics of the day. The daily one-hour series is hosted by Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Aisha Tyler and Sheryl Underwood. Show segments include guest interviews with entertainers and newsmakers, musical performances, how-to demos and appearances from extraordinary people with stories that engage and inform. The show was developed by Gilbert, who also serves as executive producer.
