COOKING CHANNEL'S CHING-HE HUANG RETURNS TO SAVE FAILING RESTAURANTS IN SECOND SEASON OF "RESTAURANT REDEMPTION"

Season premiere Tuesday, October 14that 10pm ET/7pm PT

NEW YORK, NY - September 8, 2014 - Ching-He Huang returns to help rescue struggling Asian restaurants across the county in desperate need of her expertise on the second season of Restaurant Redemption premiering Tuesday, October 14th at 10pm ET/7pm PT on Cooking Channel. Using her Asian heritage and culinary skills, Ching works to turn their businesses around. From updating predictable menus, to renovating deteriorating décor, she helps these owners regain control of their restaurant while rediscovering their culinary passions.

"Known for making Chinese food more accessible to home cooks with Chinese Food Made Easy, Ching's vast knowledge about Asian cuisine makes her the perfect person to help these troubled restaurants get back on the road to success," said Michael Smith, General Manager and Senior Vice President, Cooking Channel.

Throughout the 13 episodes, Ching changes the face of Asian cuisine in America one menu at a time. In South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, two Italian-American siblings need Ching's help attracting customers to their family's Chinese restaurant, which was opened by their father in the 1950's. Like the décor, the menu is stuck in a time warp. Will Ching be able to finally convince this duo that the only way to honor their legacy is with a major menu and décor overhaul? In another episode, Ching comes to the aid of a brother and sister in Cherry Hill, New Jersey on the edge of failure. They need her help to pull their Vietnamese restaurant out of financial trouble. Will Ching be able to help them refocus their resources to survive?

Fans can join Ching online at CookingChannelTV.com/Restaurant-Redemption for exclusive web-only videos about Chinese cooking, including tips on shopping in Asian markets, the must-have kitchen gadgets for the perfect Asian-inspired meal, pantry must-haves and new recipes. Fans can also connect with each other on Facebook at Facebook.com/CookingChannel and on Twitter with the hashtag #RestaurantRedemption.

Daytime Emmy(R)-nominated television host and cookbook author, Ching-He Huang has been with Cooking Channel since the network's launch, hosting the series Chinese Food Made Easy, which originally aired in the UK on BBC2 as well as Easy Chinese. Born in Taiwan, Ching's major food influences stem from the traditional cooking styles of her farming-community grandparents, who lived in the countryside of southern Taiwan. Her family emigrated to South Africa and settled in the UK. Ching remains true to her Chinese culture and heritage through cooking. She applies her family's culinary traditions to her work today by emphasizing the Chinese philosophy of "yin and yang", achieving a healthful balanced diet through the use of hot and cold ingredients. A passionate food lover and self-taught cook, Ching launched her own food company and became a television regular and is the author of bestselling cookbooks Chinese Food Made Easy, China Modern, Ching's Everyday Easy Chinese and Exploring China.

Restaurant Redemption is produced by Lion Television.
