NEW YORK - November 13, 2014 - Chef Aarón Sánchez hits the road for a cross-country culinary journey exploring the Latin side of U.S. cities in the new six-episode series Taco Trip, premiering Tuesday, December 16th at 9:30pm ET/6:30pm PT on Cooking Channel. In each episode, Aarón explores one city's local taco scene, seeking out the chefs, families and locals who help define each city's culinary landscape with dishes from classic carnitas to unexpected poutine-style nachos. Taco Trip kicks off in Chicago, and then visits New Orleans, Portland, San Francisco, Philadelphia and Nashville.

"His delicious journey introduces our viewers to hidden gems and hot spots for the best Latin cuisine in the country."

In the premiere episode Aarón visits Chicago, the home to America's fifth largest Hispanic community. He hits Pilsen neighborhood spot Carnitas Uraupan for chicharrón and carnitas, then heads to Wicker Park for chorizo chili cheese curds at Antique Taco and fish tacos at Big Star. The episode's last stop is Archer Heights restaurant Birreria Zarazoga, where Aarón samples birria tacos.

Aarón Sánchez is the chef/owner of Paloma in Stamford, Connecticut and recently opened Johnny Sánchez, alongside friend and colleague Chef John Besh, with locations in Baltimore and New Orleans. He is a regular judge on Chopped and has appeared in several other Food Network series, including Heat Seekers, Chef vs. City, Best Thing I Ever Ate and Next Iron Chef. The son of celebrated Mexican cooking authority Zarela Martinez, Aarón's passion, commitment and skills have placed him among the country's leading contemporary Latin Chefs.
