IRREVERSIBLE (ABC/Sony; W/D: Segahl Avin) - The Alphabet has commissioned a new pilot for the single-camera comedy, based on the Israeli series "Bilti Hafich" about parents Andy (David Schwimmer) and Sarah (Jessica Knappett) dealing with the challenges of middle class life without accepting the fact that they are middle class. Justin Long has subsequently signed on as the male lead while a search is underway for an actress to succeed Knappett. Peter Tolan and Michael Wimer remain attached as executive producers with Segahl Avin presumably returning as writer and director. (Deadline.com)
LUMEN (TNT/ABCS; W: Chris Black; D: Joe Johnson) - Zara Zoe (Skin Deep) is the latest to be cast in the drama pilot, about a family of four who finds themselves transported to the mystical alternate world inspired by the work of a missing author's best-selling series of fantasy books. She's set as Bailey in the project, which also features Sam Jaeger and Wynn Everett. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED CASEY JOHNSON/DAVID WINDSOR PROJECT (ABC, New!) - Casey Johnson and David Windsor ("Trophy Wife") have received a put pilot commitment from the Alphabet for a single-camera comedy "set in the world of the NBA about a rookie who doesn't speak English and a translator who doesn't speak basketball." Dan Fogelman; Mandalay Sports Media's Peter Guber and Mike Tollin; and Kapital Entertainment's Aaron Kaplan will also serve as executive producers on the ABC Studios project, which is being done with the cooperation of the NBA and its team Golden State Warriors, co-owned by Guber. AND IN OTHER NEWS... - Camille de Pazzis has joined the cast of Netflix's "Hemlock Grove" as Annie, "a mysterious and kind old soul masquerading in a young body who has close ties to the Godfrey family" (Deadline.com); Kerr Smith will guest on "Stalker" as "a well-respected news anchor who rebuilt his life and career after a stalking incident years ago," while Phoebe Tonkin will play "a lifeguard whose world is thrown into turmoil when she becomes the obsession of a mysterious stalker" (EOnline.com); Rick Springfield has been tapped for a role on "True Detective" (@rickspringfield); Peter Stormare will return to "Arrow" as crime boss Werner Zytle, a.k.a. Vertigo (EW.com); and Tom Forman has scored an eight-episode order from A&E for "8 Minutes," "a series featuring cop-turned-pastor Kevin Brown surprising escorts in hotel rooms and offering to rescue them from a life of trading sex for cash" (EW.com).
