A&E NETWORK PREMIERES NEW ORIGINAL SERIES "NIGHTWATCH" THURSDAY, JANUARY 22 AT 10:00 PM ET/PT

NINE-EPISODE SERIES FROM EXECUTIVE PRODUCER DICK WOLF AND 44 BLUE PRODUCTIONS FOLLOWS TOP TEAMS OF NEW ORLEANS BASED EMERGENCY RESPONDERS AS THEY BRAVE THE OVERNIGHT SHIFT IN THE BIG EASY

NEW YORK, NY - December 16, 2014 - A&E Network premieres the new nonfiction series "Nightwatch" from executive producer Dick Wolf and his Wolf Reality along with 44 Blue Productions. The hour-long series follows elite teams of emergency responders as they risk their lives to work the busiest and most unnerving shift of the day, the overnight shift in New Orleans, Louisiana. "Nightwatch" premieres Thursday, January 22 at 10:00 PM ET/PT.

In the historic city of New Orleans, police officers, fire fighters and EMT's working the overnight shift answer as many as a thousand emergency calls a night. "Nightwatch" follows multiple sets of partners in the New Orleans Emergency Medical Services unit who cover the intense and unpredictable period from 8 PM to 4 AM as they battle time and circumstance to save lives. The skills, dedication and determination that these critical and dangerous jobs require are on full display nightly while each new traumatic call comes in. As the city's heroes, one thing remains clear - the job of an emergency responder in NOLA is not only about saving lives, it's being there as a support system for the community of people in this diverse and inspiring city.

In the premiere episode of "Nightwatch," a man discovered in the street bleeding from numerous gunshot wounds brings multiple teams of EMT's to the scene. While they work furiously to keep the victim alive before taking him to the hospital, the police immediately begin the investigation. As the evening goes on, the calls keep coming. The fire fighters encounter a case of suspected arson and the EMT's at the scene of a car accident catch a driver who refuses to admit he is on drugs.

"Nightwatch" is produced by Wolf Reality ("Law & Order" branded series, "Chicago Fire"/"Chicago PD," "Cold Justice") and 44 Blue Productions ("Wahlburgers," "Donnie Loves Jenny") for A&E Network. Executive producers for Wolf Reality are Dick Wolf and Tom Thayer. Executive producer for 44 Blue Productions is Rasha Drachkovitch. Executive producers for A&E Network are Shelly Tatro, Drew Tappon, Lily Neumeyer and Devon Graham.
