GO JERROD GO (NBC/Universal; W: Jerrod Carmichael & Nick Stoller; D: Scott Ellis) - Loretta Devine and Amber West have both been cast in the multi-camera comedy pilot, about "a young couple, Jerrod (Carmichael) and Maxine (Amber West), who decide to move in together, but when it comes time to tell Jerrod's parents, he finds every reason in the world to hold off on breaking the news to them." Devine then will play Jerrod's mother. Ravi Nandan also serves as an executive producer. (Deadline.com)

LIVING ON VIDEO (HBO, New!) - Writers Rich Wilkes and Bob Stevenson are set to team with director David Fincher (Gone Girl) for a new comedy set in 1983 Los Angeles, about the players of the then-exploding music video industry. Said effort will revolve around Bobby, "a wide-eyed guy who drops out of college and drives to Hollywood with dreams of directing a sci-fi epic. He lands a job as a PA for a company making music videos." Casting is already underway in anticipation of a pilot order. (Deadline.com)

QUEEN OF THE SOUTH (USA/FTVS; W: M.A. Fortin & Joshua John Miller; D: Charlotte Sieling) - Hemky Madera ("Weeds") has scored a role in the drama pilot, about Teresa Mendoza (Alice Braga), a woman who, when her drug-dealing boyfriend is unexpectedly murdered in Mexico, is forced to go on the run and seek refuge in America, where she teams with an unlikely figure from her past to bring down the leader of the very drug trafficking ring that has her on the run. He'll play "violent cartel henchman Pote Galvez" in the project, which also stars Justina Machado. (Deadline.com)

SHAKEDOWN (HBO, New!) - Writer James Ellroy (L.A. Confidential) and David Fincher (Gone Girl) have sold a new drama to the pay channel "set in the tabloid world and the underbelly of Los Angeles in the 1950s and centers on a real-life private detective." The project, originally set up at FX last year, is inspired by the life of legendary 1950s Hollywood vice cop-turned-private eye Fred Otash. Joshua Donen, Clark Peterson and Steven Hoban are also among the executive producers, succeeding Joe Roth and Palak Patel from the previous incarnation. (Deadline.com)

UNTITLED SARAH SILVERMAN PROJECT (HBO, New!) - Sarah Silverman is set to topline a new half-hour pilot for the pay channel described as "a comic look at a pathologically honest woman having a modern mid-life crisis." Lucy Prebble ("Secret Diary of a Call Girl") is penning the project with Silverman, Ash Atalla, Amy Zvi and Dan Hine likewise executive producing. (Deadline.com)

AND IN OTHER NEWS... - "Secrets & Lies" showrunner Barbie Kligman has inked a two-year overall deal with producer ABC Studios (Deadline.com); Ian Somerhalder will step behind the camera for an upcoming episode of "The Vampire Diaries" while Annie Wersching will recur on the series as "a beautiful and strong woman named Lily" (Instagram.com, TVLine.com); Eion Bailey will return to "Once Upon a Time" for several episodes as August a.k.a. Pinocchio (TVLine.com); and Amy Brenneman is set to reprise her role of Marie de Guise on "Reign" later this season (EW.com).
