ABC Family Wins Favorite Cable TV Comedy for "Melissa & Joey" and Favorite Cable TV Drama for "Pretty Little Liars" at the People's Choice Awards

Wins Come Hot Off the Heels of ABC Family's Best Season Numbers Yet

Burbank, CA (January 9, 2015) - ABC Family's hit series "Pretty Little Liars" and "Melissa & Joey" both won People's Choice awards this week.

"Pretty Little Liars," now in its fifth season, won Favorite Cable TV Drama, their second People's Choice award. The show returned January 6th and airs every Tuesday at 8:00PM ET/PT.

"Pretty Little Liars" is produced by Alloy Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television and is executive produced by I. Marlene King, Oliver Goldstick, Leslie Morgenstein and Joseph Dougherty. The series stars Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, Tyler Blackburn, Lucy Hale, Ian Harding, Laura Leighton, Shay Mitchell, Janel Parrish and Sasha Pieterse.

"Melissa & Joey" won for Favorite Cable TV Comedy. It was their third-consecutive People's Choice nomination and first win. The show returns for its fourth season Wednesday, January 14th at 8:00PM ET/PT.

"Melissa & Joey" stars Melissa Joan Hart, Joey Lawrence, Taylor Spreitler and Nick Robinson, and is executive-produced by Bob Young & David Kendall, Paula Hart, Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence.

During 2014, for the first time in the network's history, ABC Family finished as the year's #1 cable TV network in Prime in Women 18-34 (250,000/0.7 rating), notched its highest annual Prime rank on record in Adults 18-34 (#6 - 350,000/0.5 rating) and Viewers 12-34 (#6 - 509,000/0.6 rating), and ranked among the Top 2 cable TV networks for the 3rd year in a row in Females 12-34 (#2 - 366,000/0.8 rating).
