Disney XD has ordered a second season of Disney Television Animation's animated comedy adventure "Star vs. The Forces of Evil" ahead of the series premiere on MONDAY, MARCH 30 (8:00 p.m., ET/PT). It was announced today by Marc Buhaj, Senior Vice President, Programming and General Manager, Disney XD.

Buhaj said, "We've seen an instant connection across social media to Daron's characters Star and Marco, a pair who brings their own unique voice to Disney XD. Since previewing the series' opening title at last year's Comic-Con, hundreds of fan art pieces have been generated before the show has even premiered. We are eager to share 'Star vs. The Forces of Evil' with our audiences around the world."

Created and executive-produced by 2009 California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) graduate Daron Nefcy, "Star vs. The Forces of Evil" follows fiercely awesome teen princess Star Butterfly. After receiving an all-powerful magic wand for her 14th birthday, Star is sent by her Royal Parents to live with the Diaz family on Earth, bringing along her own unique inter-dimensional style to her new home. Together with the Diaz's teenage son, Marco, they navigate high school and embark on dimension-hopping adventures across the multiverse while keeping her wand out of the clutches of arch-nemesis Ludo and his monstrous forces of evil.

Eden Sher (ABC's "The Middle") voices Star Butterfly alongside Adam McArthur ("Star Wars: The Clone Wars") as Marco Diaz; Alan Tudyk (Broadway's "Spamalot") as Star's nemesis, Ludo, and her dad, King Butterfly; Nia Vardalos ("My Big Fat Greek Wedding") as Star's adopted mom on Earth, Mrs. Diaz; Artt Butler ("Her") as Star's adopted dad on Earth, Mr. Diaz; Nate Torrence ("Super Fun Night") as Ferguson; Jenny Slate ("Parks and Recreation") as Pony Head and Dee Dee Rescher ("Ferris Bueller's Day Off") as Skullnick. Notable guest stars for season one include Michael C. Hall ("Dexter"), Anna Camp ("Pitch Perfect"), Stephen Root ("Selma"), Rider Strong ("Boy Meets World"), Jeffrey Tambor ("Arrested Development"), Jessica Walter ("Arrested Development") and Jon Heder ("Napoleon Dynamite").

The premiere schedule is as follows:

"Monster Arm/The Other Exchange Student" - When Marco hurts his arm before a big karate tournament, Star tries to fix it with magic. Then the Diaz family's charming former exchange student, Gustav, comes to visit and Star is convinced that he has an evil motive for returning.

"Match Maker/School Spirit" - After failing a math test, Star tries to convince her teacher Miss Skullnick to change her grade by helping her with her love life. Then Star, still unfamiliar with the lingo on Earth, misunderstands when she hears that the Echo Creek football team is going to "get slaughtered" and prepares a series of booby traps to protect them.

Thursday, April 2

WATCH Disney XD launches a new game, "Star vs. The Dungeon of Evil," allowing players to help Star and Marco battle their way out of a dark labyrinth beneath Ludo's castle filled with menacing monsters and unexpected enemies.
