AFTERMATH (FOX, New!) - Feature writers Ryan Belenzon and Jeffrey Gelber are developing a limited event series at the network "set in the wake of a worldwide flu pandemic. Former CDC virologist Nathan Taggat is forced to investigate the strange pathogenic suicide of a John Doe, who might hold the key to stopping a high-level government conspiracy." Color Force's Brad Simpson and Nina Jacobson will also serve as executive producers for 20th Century Fox Television. (Deadline.com)
ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW EVENT, THE (FOX, New!) - The network is taking another stab at a remake of Jim Sharman and Richard O'Brien's 1975 cult classic, this time to be directed, executive-produced and choreographed by Kenneth Ortega. Production on the two-hour movie is casting-contingent. Lou Adler, who produced the original film, and The Jackal Group's Gail Berman are also attached as executive producers for Fox 21. The news marks the third time said duo have mounted similar efforts: in 2008 for MTV and back at FOX in 2002. (THR.com)
AND IN OTHER NEWS... - "Chicago Fire" director/executive producer Joe Chappelle has inked an overall deal with producers Universal Television and Wolf Films (Deadline.com); Jon Bon Jovi is spearheading "If I Wasn't a Rock Star," a potential reality series which "will feature music stars who ditch their celebrity lifestyles to go back to their hometowns and experience the lives they may have led if they hadn't made it big" (THR.com); and "Veep" creator Armando Iannucci is departing the HBO comedy after four seasons, to be succeeded by David Mandel as showrunner (THR.com).
