FX PRODUCTIONS REACHES OVERALL DEAL WITH SIMON RICH

Creator and Executive Producer of FXX's Man Seeking Woman Inks Two-Year Overall Deal To Develop Projects for FXP

LOS ANGELES, April 22, 2015 - FX Productions has closed an overall production deal with Simon Rich, Creator, Showrunner and Executive Producer of FXX's Man Seeking Woman, and his production company Allagash Industries, it was announced today by Nick Grad and Eric Schrier, Presidents of Original Programming, FX Networks and FX Productions. The two-year agreement follows FXX's second season pickup of Man Seeking Woman, which is based on Rich's book of short stories, The Last Girlfriend on Earth, and has been hailed by critics as one of the best new comedies on television.

"Simon is one of the brightest and most innovative talents in television today," said Schrier. "With Man Seeking Woman, he took the age-old story of looking for love and turned it on its head. FX is all about that kind of creative risk taking and we jumped at the opportunity to develop future projects with him."

Simon Rich commented, "I'm so grateful to FX for believing in Allagash Industries. They've given us more creative freedom than I ever dreamed was possible. I'm determined to develop shows with them that are honest, original and gross. I can't wait to get started."

Rich is the author of two novels and four short story collections, including Spoiled Brats and Ant Farm. He's written for the New Yorker, Pixar and Saturday Night Live, the latter of which earning him four Primetime Emmy(R) award nominations and two WGA Awards. Allagash Industries is a Brooklyn-based company devoted to high-stakes, premise-driven art.

Man Seeking Woman, the first original comedy series to debut on FXX, has been picked up for a second season and will return with 10 new episodes in 2016. A sweet and absurd look at the surreal life-and-death stakes of dating, Man Seeking Woman stars Jay Baruchel as "Josh Greenberg," a naive romantic on a desperate quest for love. The cast also includes series regulars Eric André and Britt Lower. The first season of Man Seeking Woman has drawn rave reviews from critics, including being named "TV's Best New Comedy" by Rolling Stone and "TV's Smartest New Comedy" by The Daily Beast. Man Seeking Woman was created by Simon Rich based on his book of short stories, The Last Girlfriend on Earth. Rich serves as Showrunner and Executive Producer along with Jonathan Krisel, Lorne Michaels and Andrew Singer. Man Seeking Woman is produced by FX Productions.
