NOMINATE YOUR FAVORITE NURSE TO WIN A WALK-ON ROLE IN AN EPISODE OF DISCOVERY LIFE CHANNEL'S "UNTOLD STORIES OF THE ER"

-- Discovery Life Channel Announces Sweepstakes and Programming Stack to Celebrate National Nurses Week --

(Silver Spring, Md.) - From gut-wrenching traumas and medical miracles to totally outrageous cases that defy imagination, nurses have just about seen it all and now they have a chance to see themselves on TV! During National Nurses Week from May 6-12, Discovery Life Channel will celebrate the unflappable men and woman in scrubs with a special marathon of emergency room programming on Wednesday, May 6, and the chance to win a walk-on-role to the hit series UNTOLD STORIES OF THE ER.

"Nurses are the heartbeat of the medical community, yet they rarely receive the recognition they deserve," said Jane Latman, general manager of Discovery Life Channel. "The hard work of emergency room nurses are profiled in our series UNTOLD STORIES OF THE ER and NY ER, but we want to shine a light on deserving nurses in all fields with a marathon of programs and a fun contest to give back to the nurses who make patients' darkest days a little brighter."

On Wednesday, May 6 starting at 9am ET, Discovery Life Channel has prescribed a full day of programming that honors the tireless, thankless and often-heroic actions of emergency room nurses. The marathon will include some of the most dramatic episodes of UNTOLD STORIES OF THE ER and NY ER, featuring life-altering and just downright unforgettable nursing moments caught on tape.

With more than ten years' experience in the nursing field, Katie Duke from NY ER knows first-hand the physical and emotional demands our nurses face, saying "It takes a dedicated, determined, special person to be a nurse. Not only do we deal with the human body, but also the human spirit. When a patient takes the time to thank me, or just give a little hug, it warms my heart. I hope everyone will take a moment during National Nurses Week to show their appreciation."

To enter, applicants should go to DiscoveryLife.com/nurses to share a personal story nominating their favorite nurse. One grand-prize winner will receive a trip for two to Vancouver and a walk on role to the new season of Untold Stories of the ER, plus $500 spending cash! Act "STAT", the entry period ends on May 13.
