NEW SEASON, NEW NIGHT, NEW CHALLENGES

MTV'S "TEEN MOM 2" RETURNS FOR AN EXPLOSIVE SIXTH SEASON ON THURSDAY, JULY 9 AT 10:00 P.M. ET/PT

New Docu-Series "One Bad Choice" to Debut Immediately Following at 11:00 P.M. ET/PT

New York, NY (June 1, 2015) - From crumbling marriages and chaotic custody battles, to newfound love and wedding proposals, MTV's "Teen Mom 2" will rejoin the journeys of Kailyn, Leah, Jenelle and Chelsea with the highly anticipated sixth season premiere on an all-new night, Thursday, July 9 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT. As these young women continue to raise their kids and witness exciting milestones in their lives, the ups and downs of motherhood prove it is not easy to be a teen mom.

Immediately following at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT, MTV will debut the compelling, new docu-series, "One Bad Choice," on how a single mistake can change the trajectory of a life forever. Each episode - told through first-hand confessionals mixed with actor re-enactments of their stories - will feature a young person who has lived through the cautionary tale that every decision has consequences. From drunk driving and drug use, to consensual sex with a minor, fraud and kidnapping, the series reveals that good people can make bad choices that lead to tragic outcomes like prison time, permanently damaged reputations and even death. But by bravely coming forward, and in many cases sharing their paths to redemption, these young people hope to prevent others from making similar bad choices in their lives.

This season on "Teen Mom 2," Chelsea is happy and in a healthy relationship with her new boyfriend, Cole, who treats her right and is wonderful with her daughter, Aubree. But when her ex, Adam, returns to file for joint custody of Aubree, Chelsea's world and the life she has worked so hard for feels like it will come crashing down at any moment.

After having her second baby, Kaiser, and moving in with Nathan, Jenelle has the stability she has always wanted. But when she gets fed up with her mom Barbara's excuses not to let her see Jace, she decides to pursue regaining full custody of him. Meanwhile, after a whirlwind proposal, her relationship with Nathan spirals downward fast when he is arrested after a series of volatile fights. Despite these setbacks, Jenelle is determined to work things out with Nathan for their baby and build the kind of home that could get Jace back for good.

Kailyn has an explosive start to the season when Javi sees texts to a guy from school on her phone. Despite couples' counseling, they struggle to keep their marriage together as several arguments over jealousy bring them closer to divorce. On top of this, Jo's girlfriend, Vee, is pregnant and the couple decides to move to Delaware to be closer to Isaac. With school, motherhood and a failing marriage occurring all at once, Kailyn has more on her plate than ever before.

Leah is feeling stress from all fronts. Her marriage to Jeremy is already in a fragile state as she tries to move past rumors of cheating and shoulders the weight of taking care of three children on her own. Moreover, her ex, Corey, pushes Leah's limits as he asks for a court-ordered drug test and tries to gain full custody of Ali and Aleeah. When Jeremy files for divorce, Leah reaches her breaking point and decides to go away for intensive therapy.

"Teen Mom" and "16 and Pregnant" have been widely credited for contributing to recent declines in teen birth rate in the United States, which fell 30 percent since the premiere of both shows in 2009. A 2014 study by researchers at the University of Maryland and Wellesley College found that the series ultimately led to a 5.7 percent reduction in teen births in the 18 months following its introduction - one-third of the overall decline in teen births in the United States in that period.

In a 2012 poll by the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy, 77 percent of teens age 12-19 who have seen "16 and Pregnant" and "Teen Mom" say the shows "help teens better understand the challenges of pregnancy and parenting." According to the National Campaign, more than 600,000 teenage girls in the U.S. become pregnant every year and nearly one out of every ten children in the U.S. is born to a teenage mother. Nearly one in six teen moms has a second child during their teen years. The vast majority of teen pregnancies are unintended.

More information about sexual health issues affecting young people, including unintended pregnancy, is available at www.itsyoursexlife.com.

"Teen Mom 2" is Executive Produced by Morgan J. Freeman and Dia Sokol Savage. Larry Musnik, Annalisa Ellis and Elana Wertkin are Co-Executive Producers.

Executive Producers Morgan J. Freeman & Dia Sokol Savage (16 and Pregnant, Teen Mom) are the principal partners of 11th Street Productions.
