FOX Sports Radio Tees Up Extended Live On-Site Coverage

Los Angeles - Approaching its inaugural presentation of major championship golf, FOX Sports today announced its full broadcast schedule and programming plan for next week's 115th U.S. Open at Chambers Bay Golf Course in University Place, Wash.

The effort is highlighted by more than 38 hours of live golf action, across FOX broadcast network and FOX Sports 1, in addition to continuous live-streaming available throughout the championship on FOX Sports GO. In the days leading up to the U.S. Open, more than six hours of preview programming airs on FOX Sports 1, setting the stage for the event.

Unofficial coverage gets underway Thursday, June 18 at 10:59 AM ET with FOX Networks joining together to simultaneously show a featured group of golfers hitting their first tee shots from No. 1 at Chambers Bay. All cable networks in the FOX family are expected to participate, encouraging viewers to rejoin the coverage when it begins in full at 12:00 PM ET on FOX Sports 1.

On Thursday and Friday, June 18 and 19, the first eight hours of action are televised on FOX Sports 1 from 12:00 to 8:00 PM ET, before moving to the local FOX stations for the 8:00 to 11:00 PM ET window. Coverage on Saturday and Sunday, June 20 and 21 airs exclusively on FOX, from 2:00 to 10:00 PM ET on Saturday and 2:00 to 10:30 PM ET on Sunday. In the event of a tie at the conclusion of Sunday's final round, an 18-hole playoff airs Monday, June 22 at 2:30 PM ET on FOX.

Seven-time Emmy Award-winning announcer Joe Buck serves as the lead U.S. Open on FOX announcer for the live action and is joined by lead analyst, World Golf Hall of Famer and two-time major champion Greg Norman in the 18th Tower throughout the week. Other analysts include former professionals Brad Faxon, Corey Pavin, Tom Weiskopf, Steve Flesch, Juli Inkster, Scott McCarron and Jay Delsing, in addition to course design expert Gil Hanse. Additional members of the coverage team are Charles Davis and Holly Sonders (on-course reporters), Curt Menefee and Shane O'Donoghue (hosts) and rules expert David Fay.

In addition, FOX Sports GO live streams all U.S. Open coverage provided by FOX Sports 1 and FOX broadcast network, and offers 'bonus' content on three alternate streams created specifically for the event. The first alternate stream follows two featured groups on Thursday and Friday and one group on both Saturday and Sunday. The second stream stream features holes No. 12 and 15 throughout the week. The third stream, U.S. Open 360 offers users a fast-paced, technology-themed, all-access look from the grounds of Chambers Bay, taking viewers behind the scenes and to the action on the course.

The featured group coverage team is headed by announcer Tim Brando, who is joined by analysts Mark Brooks, Buddy Marucci and Natalie Gulbis. Holes No. 12 and 15 are called by Shane Bacon with analysts/reporters Robert Damron, Debbie Doniger and Eoghan O'Connell. U.S. Open 360 is hosted by Joel Klatt at a specially designed set location at Chambers Bay, where he is joined by analysts Joe Ogilvie, Morgan Pressel and EA Tischler. Ned Michaels and Robert Lusetich also make appearances on the digital coverage.

Build-up to the championship begins Friday, June 12 at 2:00 PM ET on FOX Sports 1, with a special "U.S. Open Groupings" edition of AMERICA'S PREGAME, where groups for the following Thursday's opening round are revealed on the air. On Sunday, June 14 at 10:00 PM ET, THE DRIVE TO THE OPEN special airs, spotlighting some of the amateurs and professionals that won sectional qualifiers to earn their way into the major championship field.

Preview coverage continues Tuesday, June 16 at 1:30 PM ET on FOX Sports 1, with a two-hour programming block airing four back-to-back episodes from the SPIRIT OF THE OPEN series. The 30-minute shows explore the vast history and rich tradition of the U.S. Open, recounting memorable moments and victories from all eras, while also helping define the championship's place within the context of the American culture and spirit.

Following the SPIRIT OF THE OPEN series on Tuesday, FOX Sports airs the first of its U.S. OPEN PREVIEW shows from Chambers Bay at 3:30 PM ET. The 30-minute show is hosted by Sonders, alongside Faxon and 1995 U.S. Open-champion Pavin, as the trio takes an in-depth look at the course, breaks down the field of favorites and looks in on the news conferences of both Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods. Wednesday's coverage kicks off with an additional preview show at 12:00 PM ET that leads into a special, two-hour WEDNESDAY AT THE OPEN from 1:00 to 3:00 PM ET. WEDNESDAY AT THE OPEN provides a behind-the-scenes feel as players complete final practice rounds and preparations before Thursday's start, and incorporates insights and analysis from broadcast leads Buck, Norman and Weiskopf, among others.
