Three-Time Emmy(R)-Winning Actor Aaron Paul Cast in Hulu Original "The Way" (wt)

Santa Monica, CA (June 17, 2015) - Emmy(R) Award-winning actor Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad, Smashed, Big Love) has been cast as the lead male actor in the Hulu Original The Way (wt). Known for his role as Jesse Pinkman on Breaking Bad, Paul is the first three-time Emmy(R) Award-winner in the drama supporting actor category. Paul will also serve as a producer on the series and his production company Lucid Road Productions has made a first look deal with Universal Television.

The Way comes to Hulu from Universal Television and Jason Katims' True Jack Productions and was created by Jessica Goldberg who will write and executive-produce the series, along with Katims and Michelle Lee of True Jack Productions.

Paul will play Eddie Cleary, a convert to a controversial movement with a wayward past. He's a husband (to "Sarah Cleary" played by Michelle Monaghan) and father who suffers a crisis of faith when all that he's come to accept as truth in his life is fundamentally challenged.

The Way examines a family at the center of a controversial movement struggling with relationships, marriage and power, with each episode taking an in-depth look at what it means to choose between the life we live and the life we want. The series is slated to premiere this winter.

The drama series will join Hulu's growing slate of premium original programming including event series 11/22/63 from Stephen King and J.J. Abrams starring James Franco; The Mindy Project, a comedy series from Mindy Kaling; comedy series Difficult People produced by Amy Poehler with stars Julie Klausner and Billy Eichner; Casual, a comedy series from Oscar(R)-nominated Director Jason Reitman; and the first long form project from Freddie Wong and the RocketJump team.
