DISCOVERY DELIVERS PROMISE OF UNCHARTERED ALASKAN TERRITORIES WITH THE BRAND NEW SERIES "LAND RUSH"
(New York, NY) - A penny saved is a penny earned, and - in the case of four Alaskan homesteaders - it can also mean a nice plot of land. Brand new series LAND RUSH, premiering on Discovery on Tuesday, July 14th at 10:00pm ET, follows four modern day pioneers in their search for freedom and security in the depths of Alaska.
With each new Alaskan exploration, unchartered territories are uncovered. Land Rush tells the similar story of the first Americans that rushed to claim the "first come, first served" territory of the west. Unlike previous wilderness survivors, these men and women lived lives deemed civilized in the comfort of cities and towns. Now, they choose to leave this familiarity behind to start over in the Alaskan wilderness.
Before winter sets in, these homesteaders must build their cabins and prepare a livelihood for themselves and their loved ones. Meet the Pioneers as they unfold their plans:
GREG: A commercial fisherman clings to his childhood memories of camping out at Kodiak Island. Some decades later, he returns to establish a residency just in time for the arrival of his first grandson.
TIFFANY: As a single mom, this retired engineer plans to use her skills to design her dream home in Mount Ryan. When she's finished, her eight-year-old son won't be caught playing video games.
JIM: After defending his country, the veteran sets out to defend his dream in the country. Following through on his father's vision, Jim plans to build a home for the entire family in Lake Louise.
DANNY: Unlike the others, Danny doesn't plan on bringing anything or anyone to Innoko River. He's got his guns and chainsaws. He's set.
