SportsCenter Special: Cowboys Training Camp to Air August 4 in Primetime on ESPN

Live Two-Hour Special to Provide an Inside Look at the NFC East Champions

Kenny Mayne Hosts with Jon Gruden and Darren Woodson

For the second year in a row, ESPN will present a rare inside look at a National Football League team practice. SportsCenter Special: Cowboys Training Camp will air in primetime on Tuesday, August 4, at 7 p.m. ET (6 p.m. CT). The two-hour special will feature live on-field coverage as Tony Romo and the NFC East champion Dallas Cowboys take the field for a training camp workout at the River Ridge Playing Fields in Oxnard, Calif.

A year ago, ESPN hosted a similar show spotlighting the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks.

SportsCenter anchor Kenny Mayne will again host this year's special with Monday Night Football's Jon Gruden and studio analyst Darren Woodson. The trio will also appear in SportsCenter segments from Oxnard earlier in the day.

Head coach Jason Garrett will lead the Cowboys through team workouts, including offense, defense and situational work. During these drills, Super Bowl-winning head coach Gruden and Woodson, the hard-hitting safety who won three Super Bowls and played his entire 13-year NFL career with the Cowboys, will share their insights.

Interviews with Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones and others will be part of the telecast.

"The Cowboys are one of the signature franchises in all of sports, and there's always so much interest in the team, especially going into a new season," said ESPN's Monday Night Football producer Jay Rothman, who will produce the special. "We had great success with our training camp special last year and we thank Jerry Jones, Jason Garrett and the Cowboys for this unique opportunity to take fans inside one of their practices live in primetime on ESPN."

The idea for this type of pro football training camp special was born from ESPN's Baseball Tonight: Gameday telecast in April 2014 when the network offered two hours of batting practice coverage before a Texas Rangers-Boston Red Sox game at Fenway Park. Adnan Virk hosted the special on the field with analysts Eduardo Perez, Aaron Boone and reporter Tim Kurkjian.

The SportsCenter Special featuring the Cowboys is part of ESPN's three weeks of on-site NFL Training Camp coverage.
