"FERRELL TAKES THE FIELD" TO SCREEN SEPT. 5 AT PETCO PARK IN SAN DIEGO, ONE WEEK BEFORE THE COMEDY SPECIAL DEBUTS ON HBO

In a first for HBO, the comedy special FERRELL TAKES THE FIELD will have a major league ballpark premiere Saturday, Sept. 5 at Petco Park in San Diego, immediately following the game between the host San Diego Padres and the Los Angeles Dodgers. As part of Baseball Night in San Diego, all fans in attendance at that night's game will have the opportunity to stay and watch the screening. Will Ferrell will be on hand to introduce the HBO special, and there will be activities for fans attending the game. The Dodgers-Padres game is scheduled to begin at 5:40 p.m. PDT.

From Funny Or Die, in partnership with Major League Baseball, the HBO special covers Ferrell's one-of-a-kind day last March 12, when he took the field at ten different positions for ten different teams, including the Padres and Dodgers, in five different spring training games at Cactus League ballparks. FERRELL TAKES THE FIELD debuts Saturday, Sept. 12 at 10:00 p.m. (ET/PT), exclusively on HBO.

Dedicating the special to the fight against cancer, through the charity Cancer For College, Ferrell is also honoring the historic feat of Bert Campaneris five decades ago.

The new special is executive produced by Will Ferrell in association with Gary Sanchez Productions, Funny Or Die's Mike Farah and Joe Farrell, and Stuart Miller, and directed by Brian McGinn.

Tickets for the Sept. 5 Padres-Dodgers game at Petco Park are available at Padres.com/BNISD.

Members of the media who wish to cover the game, but do not have an MLB-issued credential or a Padres season credential, must request a daily credential at least 24 hours in advance via the MLB online credential system or credential@padres.com.
