THE MAKING OF DISNEY'S HIT MOVIE "DESCENDANTS,"
TO BE PRESENTED SUNDAY, AUGUST 9 ON DISNEY CHANNEL
"Descendants: Set It Off," a half-hour special that takes viewers behind-the-scenes during the making of Disney's hit movie "Descendants," will be presented SUNDAY, AUGUST 9 (9:30 p.m. ET/PT) on Disney Channel. Featured are Kristin Chenoweth, Dove Cameron, Cameron Boyce, Booboo Stewart, Sofia Carson and director, choreographer and executive-producer Kenny Ortega ("High School Musical") during rehearsal for the musical numbers and filming of the movie.
The musical scenes are now music videos with over 16 million views on DisneyMusicVevo. The movie's premiere delivered over 10.5 million Total Viewers (L+3), ranking as the most watched cable TV movie of 2015 and the top-rated telecast in two years among Kids 2-11 and Tweens 9-14. It is currently #1 on iTunes (Top TV seasons), and its soundtrack is currently #1 on the iTunes soundtrack chart and #3 on the iTunes album chart (after having reached #1). Its prequel novel, The Isle of the Lost by Melissa de la Cruz from Disney Publishing Worldwide, now maintains its 11-week stronghold at #1 on the New York Times Best Seller List (Children's Middle Grade).
