IN THE LINE OF FIRE (NBC, New!) - Carol Mendelsohn and Josh Berman are spearheading a small screen take on the 1993 film starring Clint Eastwood and John Malkovich, about "a Secret Service agent who, after a fall from grace, gets the chance to redeem himself when a rogue CIA hitman threatens to assassinate the president. The agent and his female partner will investigate cases while engaged simultaneously in a twisted cat-and-mouse with the would-be assassin, who will upend their lives - forcing them to question their loyalties both professional and personal." Sony Pictures Television is behind the hour, which has a hefty penalty attached, with Gail Katz and Carol Mendelsohn Productions' Julie Weitz likewise executive producing. (Deadline.com)
MOREAU (CBS, New!) - Phillip Iscove ("Sleepy Hollow") is spearheading a small screen take on H.G. Wells's classic sci-fi novel "The Island of Dr. Moreau," which imagines "disgraced London physiologist Dr. Moreau - who retreats to an island to work on his experiments creating animal-human hybrids - is a woman." Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall and Robert Zotnowski will also executive produce via their CBS Television Studios-based The Kennedy/Marshall Company. (Deadline.com)
SECOND FATTEST HOUSEWIFE IN WESTPORT, THE (ABC, New!) - Sarah Dunn ("Manhattan Love Story") has sold a single-camera comedy to the Alphabet narrated by Katie, "who is being described as a (slightly) larger wife and mother raising her flawed family of three in a wealthy town filled with perfect wives and their perfect offspring." ABC Studios is behind the half-hour with Aaron Kaplan of Kapital Entertainment also serving as an executive producer. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED BRETT JOHNSON PROJECT (Showtime, New!) - Brett Johnson ("Ray Donovan") has sold a period drama to the pay channel set in 1980s Brooklyn and "traces a decade-long relationship between an unstable mafia captain and a rogue federal agent, each violating the strict codes of their respective organizations." Bryan Zuriff; Appian Way's Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson; as well as Charles Pacheco and Jennifer Erwin are also executive producing. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED JERMAINE FOWLER PROJECT (CBS, New!) - Comedian Jermaine Fowler is set to star in a potential multi-camera comedy at the Eye about "a character loosely inspired by his dad, a 27-year-old bringing up children who are around 10." Said effort, to be penned by Fowler, comes from CBS Television Studios with 3 Arts Entertainment's Michael Rotenberg and Josh Lieberman also on board to executive produce. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED MARLON WAYANS PROJECT (NBC, New!) - Marlon Wayans is on track to star, co-create and executive produce a semi-autobiographical comedy at the Peacock about "an inappropriate but loving father (Wayans) committed to successfully co-parenting with his polar opposite ex-wife." Universal Television, home to Wayans's new overall deal, is behind the half-hour with Chris Moynihan penning the script alongside Wayans. Rick Alvarez and 3 Arts Entertainment's Michael Rotenberg will also executive produce with NBC said to have given the project a put pilot commitment. (Deadline.com)
