"ANTARCTIC EDGE: 70° SOUTH" TO MAKE U.S. BROADCAST PREMIERE ON PIVOT ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 21st
Premiering on Wednesday, October 21nd at 7:00pm ET Antarctic Edge: 70° South shows the thrilling journey world-class scientists take as they explore the West Antarctic Peninsula. After devastating climate events like Hurricane Katrina and Superstorm Sandy, oceanographer Oscar Schofield teams up with researchers to understand why the West Antarctic Peninsula is the fastest winter-warming place on earth. This documentary combines innovative science, dramatic imagery and two decades of scientific collaboration into a compelling character-driven narrative.
As part of Pivot's mission to air and create content that inspires change, this documentary will be driving to a petition on TakePart.com addressed to President Obama demanding legislative action on climate change now by moving as quickly and aggressively as possible to reduce U.S. carbon emissions. Increasing carbon emissions are responsible for the rising seas, warming temperatures and changing rainfall patterns, which are threatening humanity and wildlife on our precious planet.
Be sure to tune in on Wednesday, October 21st at 7:00pm ET to watch Antarctic Edge: 70° South on Pivot.
