Showtime Networks Promotes Gary Levine to President of Programming

SHOWTIME NETWORKS PROMOTES GARY LEVINE TO PRESIDENT OF PROGRAMMING

NEW YORK - November 10, 2015 - Veteran executive Gary Levine has been promoted to President of Programming, Showtime Networks Inc. Levine will continue to be responsible for the development and creative oversight of all SHOWTIME original scripted and unscripted series, documentaries and specials across all platforms. Levine will also now oversee casting and program operations for the network. He joined SHOWTIME(R) in 2001 as Executive Vice President of Original Programming, and will continue reporting to David Nevins, President of Showtime Networks Inc.

"He also happens to be one of the most respected creative executives in the business because he knows how to bring out the best in everyone who works with him. Gary has proven to be an invaluable creative partner to me since the day I arrived at SHOWTIME. Since Levine joined the network, SHOWTIME has been transformed into a major series player with provocative, distinctive and acclaimed series that include Homeland, The Affair, Ray Donovan,Shameless, Nurse Jackie, Weeds, Episodes, The L Word(R), The Tudors, House of Lies, Masters of Sex, Penny Dreadful, Californication and Dexter(R). In addition to his series work, Levine has overseen the network's original movies and documentaries including this season's Academy Award(R) contenders Listen To Me Marlon, Prophet's Prey, and the Emmy(R) Award-winning environmental docu-series Years of Living Dangerously.

Prior to joining Showtime Networks, Levine served as President of Icebox, a pioneering Internet entertainment company, where he produced 30 flash-animated web series created by "A-list" writers from TV and film. Previously, Levine headed development at Warner Brothers Television, Witt-Thomas Productions and ABC (drama), resulting in several memorable primetime series including The West Wing, Blossom, and the inimitable Twin Peaks (which is now being revived as a limited series at SHOWTIME). Levine began his professional career in theatre and was a producer with New York's Roundabout Theatre, The Puerto Rican Traveling Theatre, and served for five years as the Managing Director of the acclaimed Williamstown Theatre Festival.

This year, Levine was honored by the Los Angeles Leadership Academy for his dedication to their unique, inner city educational programs. He is a long-time board member of the Williamstown Theatre Festival and is also a member of the Harpur College Advocacy Council at his alma mater, Binghamton University. A practicing lay cantor, Levine lives in Santa Monica with his wife Maxine, and has two daughters.
