INVESTIGATION DISCOVERY INTRODUCES "WHAT THE CRIME?!," A NEW PODCAST EXAMINING THE WONDERFULLY WEIRD SIDE OF CRIME

(Silver Spring, Md.) - Do you often find yourself trolling the outrageous crime headlines of the day, wondering why all of the craziest offenses seem to happen in Florida? Are you flabbergasted by people who brag about their criminal activities on Facebook? Better yet, have you ever wondered how on earth is it logistically possible for a woman to carry a loaded gun in her nether regions? Well, the wait is over, crime fans. Get your shocking stories on the go with WHAT THE CRIME?!, Investigation Discovery's weekly podcast that examines the WHY behind the most bizarre topics in the criminal world. Hosted by Ami Angelowicz, editor-in-chief of Investigation Discovery's news blog CrimeFeed.com, and digital media veteran and podcast personality Will Johnson, WHAT THE CRIME?! unpacks the unknown behind the most obscure, outrageous, and sometimes slightly offensive crime phenomena.

Through interviews with experts and additional reporting from CrimeFeed correspondents Emily Kaiser and Barry Blitch, ID's WHAT THE CRIME?! podcast weaves together the trends, examines the laws, and analyzes the arresting impact on pop culture to explore the weirder, wilder and more "WTF" side of crime. Your weekly fix of WHAT THE CRIME?! launches today, Thursday, November 19 for a six-episode run, with future 30-minute installments released every Thursday over the course of six weeks on iTunes.

"With CrimeFeed.com's increasing popularity as one of the top destinations for crime news of the day, we want to offer our insatiable ID Addicts the audio equivalent so that they are now able to watch, read and listen to get their fix," said Kevin Bennett, general manager of Investigation Discovery. "As we explore digital extensions for the ID brand, we are excited to introduce the WHAT THE CRIME?! podcast as a way to explore some of the more outrageous headlines in the news today."

WHAT THE CRIME?! joins Investigation Discovery's successful slate of original podcasts including: DETECTIVE, featuring the raw and real first-hand accounts of a detective's case files, with the first season profiling ID's resident Homicide Hunter, Lt. Joe Kenda; CRIMEFEED, covering shocking stories ripped from the headlines, hosted by defense attorney Darren Kavinoky and prosecutor Loni Coombs; MIND OF A MURDERER, hosted by Dr. Michelle Ward; and FACING EVIL WITH CANDICE DELONG.

A complete rundown of the six topics explored in the first season of WHAT THE CRIME?! include:
