SHARP OBJECTS (HBO, New!) - An eight-episode limited series based on the book of the same name by Gillian Flynn has found a home at the pay channel. Amy Adams will topline the project, about reporter Camille Preaker "who, fresh from a brief stay at a psychiatric hospital, must return to her tiny hometown to cover the murders of two preteen girls. Trying to put together a psychological puzzle from her past, Camille finds herself identifying with the young victims a bit too closely." Marti Noxon has likewise signed on as showrunner with Jean-Marc Vallée directing. Flynn herself is slated to write multiple episodes as well as executive produce alongside Adams, Noxon, Vallée, Nathan Ross and Blumhouse Productions' Jason Blum, Charles Layton and Jessica Rhoades for Entertainment One Television. WHEN THE STREET LIGHTS GO ON (Hulu/Paramount; W: Chris Hutton & Eddie O'Keefe; D: Brett Morgen) - Graham Beckel and Luke Kirby have both been cast in the drama pilot, a coming-of-age thriller about a sleepy, suburban town that is rocked by the brutal murder of a high school girl and her teacher in the summer of 1983. Beckel will play Chief Hal Hoffman, "the soon-to-be-retired town sheriff"; with Kirby as Andrew Koch, "the high school newspaper adviser and mentor to Charlie Chambers (Max Burkholder)." (Deadline.com)
AND IN OTHER NEWS... - Zach Appelman's Joe Corbin is exiting "Sleepy Hollow" after one season as a series regular (@ZachAppelman); and Liz Feldman, currently a consulting producer on "2 Broke Girls," has inked a two-year overall deal with CBS Television Studios (Deadline.com).
