NEW YORK, NY - May 3, 2016 - SundanceTV announced today that season one of the acclaimed Italian crime series "Gomorrah" will premiere on Wednesday, August 24 at 10/9c. As previously announced, the network has acquired seasons one and two from The Weinstein Company, each season featuring 12 one-hour episodes.

"Gomorrah," Italy's all-time most popular television series, is based on the best-selling book by journalist Roberto Saviano. Produced by Sky Atlantic, Cattleya and Fandango in association with La7 and Beta Film, "Gomorrah" is written by Stefano Bises and directed by Stefano Sollima, Cristina Comencini and Claudio Cupellini. The series was developed for television by Giovanni Bianconi, Stefano Bises, Leonardo Fasoli, Ludovica Rampoldi and Roberto Saviano.

SundanceTV's 2016 slate of scripted dramas includes season four of the Peabody Award-winning "Rectify"; "Hap and Leonard," based on the Joe R. Lansdale novels and featuring James Purefoy, Michael Kenneth Williams and Christina Hendricks; "The Last Panthers," a co-production with Sky Atlantic and CANAL+ starring Samantha Morton and John Hurt; "Cleverman" co-produced with ABC TV Australia and Red Arrow International and starring Iain Glen and Frances O'Connor; "Rebellion," an Irish mini-series co-produced with Zodiak Rights, Touchpaper TV and RTé; and family drama series "The A-Word," co-produced with Keshet International, Fifty Fathoms, Keshet UK and BBC One.
