ROOFS TAKE CENTERSTAGE IN HOME RENOVATIONS WITH DIY NETWORK'S "RAISE THE ROOF" PREMIERING JULY 21

New York [For Immediate Release - June 16, 2016] Denver-based contractor and real estate investor Keith Nylund showcases how he transforms small historic houses into larger modern homes in DIY Network's new series Raise the Roof. Premiering Thursday, July 21, at 11 p.m. ET/PT, the seven-episode series follows Keith and his team as they remove a home's existing roof and install an additional story to make it a family-friendly option for potential buyers.

"My specialty is doubling or even tripling a historic home's square footage by adding a second floor," said Keith. "It's always risky to remove the roof, but I'm dedicated to transforming these hundred-year old properties into homes that suit modern families while preserving the home's original character."

In the premiere episode, Keith expands a small 1910 Craftsman-style bungalow into a three-story home with additional 1,900 square feet. As parts of the original structure are removed, Keith and his team face unexpected challenges including broken pipes and water damage. Although the whole home overhaul takes six months to complete, the results are astonishing - from the new kitchen and open floor plan to the gorgeous third-floor view of the mountains and restored original Craftsman-style features, the bungalow is tripled in size and perfectly suited for a modern family.
