AMERICAN GOTHIC (CBS) - Bethany Joy Lenz is set to recur on the summer drama as April, "a vibrant, insightful nurse at a rehab facility who develops a meaningful bond with one of the Hawthornes." (TVLine.com)
AMERICAN HORROR STORY (FX) - Cheyenne Jackson took to Twitter with the news he'll be back for the franchise's next installment. (@cheyennejackson)
DAMNATION (USA, New!) - Tony Tost ("Longmire") has scored a pilot order from the cable channel for a new drama "described as an epic saga of the secret history of the 1930s American heartland, chronicling the mythic conflict and bloody struggle between big money and the downtrodden, God and greed, charlatans and prophets. The pilot centers on Seth Davenport, who is masquerading as a small-town Iowa preacher in the hope of starting a full-blown insurrection against the status quo. Focused on his mission, he is unaware that an industrialist tycoon has hired a professional strikebreaker named Creeley Turner to stop the uprising by any means necessary. But unbeknownst to those around them, these two men already share a secret bloody past." Universal Cable Productions and Entertainment 360 are behind the hour with Guymon Casady, James Mangold and Daniel Rappaport also executive producing. (Deadine.com)
DIMENSION 404 (Hulu) - Megan Mullally and Constance Wu have both been cast in an episode of the anthology series. The former plays Director Stevens, "a hardened, no-nonsense military commander who oversees a top-secret, cutting-edge NSA project tasked to fight terrorism"; with Wu as Jane, "a military psychologist on active duty, who wants nothing more than to spend Christmas leave with her wife and daughter. However, the U.S. government cancels her plans and re-assigns her to a much more vital task: help the NSA's unusual but most valued agent overcome his performance issues in order to stop a deadly terrorist attack." (Deadine.com)
INTO THE BADLANDS (AMC) - LaToya Morgan ("Turn: Washington's Spies") has inked a two-year overall deal with the network, where she'll join season two of the drama as well as develop her own series projects. (Deadine.com)
MIDNIGHT, TEXAS (NBC) - Jason Lewis will recur on the midseason drama as Joe Strong, "an easygoing tattoo artist with a strong moral compass who lives with his husband and their dog and has supernatural powers of an angel." Said role originated in the pilot. (Deadine.com)
ROADSIDE PICNIC (WGN America) - Matthew Goode ("The Good Wife") is the first to be cast in the drama pilot, which "explores a near-future world where aliens have come and gone, leaving humankind to explore the wondrous and dangerous mysteries left behind. The story also explores the social ramifications of their visit, as seen through the eyes of Red (Goode), a veteran "stalker" who has made it his mission to illegally venture into the once inhabited zone and scavenge the abandoned remains of the alien culture." (Deadine.com)
ROYALS, THE (E!) - Jules Knight has scored an arc on the upcoming season as Spencer Hoenigsberg, "the new Lord Chamberlain to the Queen of England." (TVLine.com)
