ALWAYS ON: IFC APP LAUNCHES ON APPLE TV

IFC App Includes Original Series Portlandia and Documentary Now! Both Emmy-Nominated for Outstanding Variety Sketch Series

NEW YORK, NY - September 9, 2016 - Just days before the widely-anticipated second season premiere of the Emmy-nominated series Documentary Now!, IFC announced the launch of its app on Apple TV. The IFC app features a collection of IFC original series, comedy shorts and fan-favorite movies. The app is free to download and IFC cable subscribers get full access.

The app includes full episodes of Emmy-nominated series Portlandia and Documentary Now! Season 2, which premieres on Wednesday, September 14, at 10PM, will be available for the day after the show airs on IFC on Apple TV, IFC's mobile app, and everywhere else. The app will also include all of IFC's Comedy Crib library, this includes more than 20 original short-form comedy series from partners such as Above Average, UCB Comedy and the Annoyance Theatre, as well as established and up-and-coming comedians.

"Fans know IFC for our 'Always on, Slightly off' style of comedy, and our new app ensures that our originals are 'always on' and available wherever and whenever viewers want to watch them," said Jennifer Caserta, President, IFC. "The app delivers a great viewing experience and this launch on Apple TV is perfectly timed for the return of Documentary Now! and premiere of our newest original, Stan Against Evil, later this year."
