"Saturday Night Live" Continues Season 42 Momentum with Star-Studded Shows on Oct. 15 & 22

NEW YORK - Oct. 7, 2016 - Emily Blunt will make her "Saturday Night Live" host debut Oct. 15. She stars in the highly anticipated film "The Girl on the Train," which opened in theaters today.

Accompanying Blunt will be multi-Grammy Award winner Bruno Mars, who will be making his fourth appearance as musical guest. Mars' 3rd album "24K Magic" will be released on November 18th. His first single of the same name is out today.

Actor Tom Hanks will host "SNL" for the ninth time on Oct. 22. He stars in "Sully" and the upcoming "Inferno," which opens Oct. 28 and is the newest film in the highly popular "The Da Vinci Code" series.

Joining Hanks will be Academy Award-nominated, Grammy and Golden Globe-winning artist Lady Gaga for her third time as musical guest. Her fifth studio album, "Joanne," is set to be released Oct. 21.

Last week's season-premiere telecast of "Saturday Night Live," hosted by Margot Robbie and featuring musical guest The Weeknd, delivered 11.8 million viewers in "live plus three day" ratings from Nielsen Media Research, making it the show's most-watched season debut in 22 years, since the 1994 premiere hosted by Steve Martin with musical guest Eric Clapton (12.2 million). In adults 18-49, this year's debut averaged a 3.64 rating in L+3 Nielsens, making it the show's top debut in eight years, dating back to the 2008 opener hosted by Michael Phelps and featuring musical guest Lil Wayne, as well as an appearance by Tina Fey as Gov. Sarah Palin (4.94).
