ALL TOGETHER NOW (ABC, New!) - Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit ("Super Fun Night") have sold a single-camera comedy to the Alphabet about "a free-spirit rock and roller who, in an attempt to be a better provider, gets his first real job working at a music store owned by his biological father, a former rock star who he has never met." Sony Pictures Television-based Olive Bridge Entertainment is behind the half-hour, which is inspired by Hernandez's own family history. Will Gluck and Richie Schwartz will also executive produce. BEING MARY JANE (BET) - Michael Ealy ("Secrets & Lies") is bound for the show's upcoming fourth season as Justin Talbot, "the new producer of Great Day USA who, unfortunately for Mary Jane, also is the man who previously got her fired from CNN. Upon arriving at Great Day USA, he remains a thorn in Mary Jane's side, and she must learn to cleverly circumvent his power plays." (Deadline.com)
CONTROVERSY (FOX, New!) - Sheldon Turner (Up in the Air) has booked a potential drama at the network about "a successful crisis-management consultant brought in to advise a university when a co-ed accuses football players of gang-raping her. Facing a crisis of conscience, she partners with a lawyer for the university to seek out the truth." Directors John Requa and Glenn Ficarra also serve as executive producers on the project, which has a put pilot commitment. Judy Smith, Zaftig Films' Charlie Gogolak and Vendetta Productions' Jennifer Klein likewise will executive produce for 20th Century Fox Television. (Deadline.com)
GREY'S ANATOMY (ABC) - Tessa Ferrer will reprise her role of Dr. Leah Murphy later this season on the veteran drama. (Deadline.com)
KRYPTON (Syfy) - Ian McElhinney, Elliot Cowan, Ann Ogbomo, Rasmus Hardiker, Wallis Day and Aaron Pierre have all been cast in the drama pilot, set two generations before the destruction of the legendary Man of Steel's home planet. McElhinney will play Val-El, grandfather of Seg-El; with Cowan as Daron Vex, the Chief Magistrate of Kandor; Ogbomo as Primus Alura Zod, Lyta Zod's mother and a leader of Krypton's military guild; Hardiker as the rankless Kem; Day as Nyssa Vex, a junior magistrate and the daughter of Daron Vex; and Pierre as Dev-Em, a cadet under the command of Primus Alura Zod. MICK, THE (FOX) - Dave Annable ("Red Band Society") is set to recur on the midseason comedy as Teddy Grant, "a sophisticated, handsome adventurer, and the scion of a family that's been in Greenwich since the Revolutionary War. He takes a liking to Mickey (Kaitlin Olson), and finds her down-to-earth personality quite refreshing. However, before long things go awry." (Deadline.com)
RIVERDALE (The CW) - Raul Castillo ("Looking") will drop by the midseason drama as Oscar, "a serious, successful songwriter from New York who is also a visiting professor at Carson College, located in Riverdale." (THR.com)
UNTITLED JEREMY BRONSON PROJECT (ABC, New!) - The Alphabet has given a cast-contingent pilot production commitment to a single-camera comedy about "a struggling hip-hop artist who runs for mayor to promote his mixtape - and wins." Jeremy Bronson ("Late Night with Jimmy Fallon") is behind the half-hour with director James Griffiths, Daveed Diggs, Jamie Tarses, Scott Stuber and Dylan Clark likewise executive producing for the ABC Studios-based Bluegrass FanFare. UNTITLED MOGEL & PAUL PROJECT (FOX, New!) - Jarrad Paul and Andy Mogel ("The Grinder") are back in business with the network for a new single camera comedy about "an office culture that is thrown into upheaval when the startlingly un-PC CEO is pitted against a newly hired ultra PC sensitivity specialist." The project, which has a put pilot commitment, is set up at 20th Century Fox Television. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED MORGAN MURPHY PROJECT (ABC, New!) - Morgan Murphy ("2 Broke Girls") has scored a put pilot commitment from the Alphabet for a new comedy about "two brothers who, after their mother dies, return to their gentrified Los Angeles neighborhood and find themselves re-defining family and community with their eclectic friends and neighbors." ABC Studios is behind the half-hour with director Tim Story and 3 Arts Entertainment's Michael Rotenberg and Avi Gilbert likewise executive producing. (Deadline.com)
