EMMY(R) WINNER ERIC STONESTREET JOURNEYS THROUGH ALASKA, HAWAII AND WASHINGTON'S WARTIME PAST IN THIRD INSTALLMENT OF TRAVEL CHANNEL'S 'CELEBRITY ADVENTURE CLUB'
Eric Stonestreet in The Pacific Aviation Museum in Oahu, Hawaii, for "Celebrity Adventure Club"
NEW YORK (October 19, 2016) - Award-winning actor Eric Stonestreet is on a quest through Alaska, Hawaii and Washington to examine the American battlefronts of World War II in Travel Channel's "Celebrity Adventure Club." The third installment in this series of specials premieres on Wednesday, November 9 at 5:00 p.m. ET/PT. In each hour-long feature, Travel Channel hands the camera to some of the world's biggest stars as they travel around the globe on an intimate adventure of discovery and exploration.
"I'm infatuated with the story of when World War II came to American shores," says Stonestreet. "It's not very often you get to stand where history happened. It is such an honor to be able to walk in the footsteps of World War II veterans - to stop and honor those who helped shape our history and our future."
Stonestreet begins his nostalgic World War II adventure in Oahu, Hawaii, where he boards a vintage bi-plane and retraces the historic route the Japanese attack fleet flew over battleship row. At the Pacific Aviation Museum, he witnesses the restoration of vintage WWII aircrafts and receives an exclusive tour of Pearl Harbor. In the Alaska leg, he explores the significance of the battle of Dutch Harbor from the site of a commercial vessel shipwreck and military barracks in the hills of Mount Ballyhoo. His tour ends in Seattle, where Stonestreet meets a World War II veteran who inspires him to take flight in a perfectly restored B17 bomber plane, getting a small taste of the war that changed America forever.
"Celebrity Adventure Club" is executive produced by Emmy award-winning Mark Herzog and Christopher G. Cowen for Herzog & Company.
