"THE GREAT CORNHOLIOTHON" BEGINS SATURDAY, OCTOBER 29 AT 5:00 PM ET/PT

October 28, 2016 - New York, NY - MTV Classic will celebrate its inaugural Halloween with "The Great Cornholiothon," a 24-hour marathon of the classic Beavis & Butt-head "BUTTOWEEN (AKA Cornholio, Lord of the Harvest)." Beginning on Saturday, October 29 at 5:00 p.m. ET/PT and continuing through Sunday, October 30 at 5:00 p.m. ET/PT, the epic episode where an evening of trick-or-treating takes a strange turn when Beavis becomes the Great Cornholio will air over, and over and over again.

Throughout "The Great Cornholiothon," fans will be invited on-air to answer Beavis & Butt-head trivia questions on Twitter for a chance to win MTV swag by using the hashtag #buttoweensweepstakes and tagging @mtvclassic. Immediately following at 5:00 p.m. ET/PT, the network will air Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II, followed by The Lost Boys at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.

On Halloween day, viewers will wake up to "Classic Halloween Music Videos" from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. ET/PT, followed by second runs of Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters II and The Lost Boys, along with the fan-favorite corpse comedy, Weekend at Bernie's.

MTV Classic, formerly VH1 Classic, features an eclectic mix of fan-favorite MTV series and music programming drawn from across its rich history, with a special focus on the 1990s and early 2000s. The network airs primetime "from the vault" programming blocks Mondays through Thursdays from 10:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. comprised of series such as Daria, Beavis & Butt-head, Aeon Flux, Run's House, Pimp My Ride, Cribs, Jackass, Punk'd, Wonder Showzen and Clone High, among others. Every Friday, classic music series air in primetime including MTV Unplugged, Storytellers, live music performances and more, while weekends are programmed with binge-worthy marathons of fan favorites including full seasons of The Real World, Laguna Beach, Road Rules.

Additionally, the channel continues to run movies, concerts and music videos from the past that speak to the last three decades of music and pop-culture.
