dick clark productions and ABC announced today that after four weeks of voting, the fans have selected Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, Rihanna and Carrie Underwood as the final five nominees for the Artist of the Year award at the "2016 American Music Awards." You can vote for the final five Artist of the Year nominees until Thursday, November 17, at 8:59:59 p.m. PST.

They join hosts Gigi Hadid and Jay Pharoah, as well as previously announced performers including James Bay, Fifth Harmony, Lady Gaga, Green Day, John Legend, Bruno Mars, Shawn Mendes, Twenty One Pilots, The Weeknd, special duets from The Chainsmokers and Halsey, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj, and Maroon 5 and Kendrick Lamar, and "The American Music Award of Merit" honoree and performer Sting. The "2016 American Music Awards," the world's biggest fan-voted award show, will broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 20, at 8:00 p.m. EST, on ABC.

The nominations for the "2016 American Music Awards" were announced last month, revealing that Drake leads with 13 nominations, while Rihanna received seven and Adele and Justin Bieber received five nominations each. Beyoncé and The Chainsmokers each received four nominations. Additionally, Bryson Tiller, Twenty One Pilots, Carrie Underwood, Fetty Wap and The Weeknd earned three nominations each.

New Artist of the Year Un-leashed by T-Mobile nominees are Alessia Cara, The Chainsmokers, DNCE, Shawn Mendes and Zayn. Voting for this category is now open and will close Sunday, November 20 at 5:59:59 p.m. PST.

The American Music Awards winners are voted entirely by fans. Voting closes this morning at 8:59:59 a.m. PST for all categories other than Artist of the Year and New Artist of the Year Un-leashed by T-Mobile. Voting New Artist of the Year Un-leashed by T-Mobile closes at 5:59:59 p.m. PST on November 20, one hour into the live telecast of the American Music Awards.

This year will mark Niall Horan's first solo American Music Award performance. One Direction first performed "Story of My Life" in 2013, followed by "Night Changes" in 2014 and "Perfect" in 2015.
