NEW YORK - November 22, 2016 - IFC announced today its very first slightly off holiday special: Joe's Pub Presents: A Holiday Special starring two time Emmy Award-winning actor Tony Hale ("Veep," "Arrested Development"). The comedy and music event-special will tape in front of a live audience on Wednesday, November 30 and air as a one-hour special on the network on Wednesday, December 21 at 10PM.

Taping at the iconic Joe's Pub inside the historic Public Theater in downtown Manhattan, Joe's Pub Presents: A Holiday Special will feature a variety of holiday themed performances from acclaimed comics, singers and actors including Bridget Everett ("Inside Amy Schumer," "Girls"), Jo Firestone ("High Maintenance," "Broad City"), Jen Kirkman (Netflix's "I'm Gonna Die Alone (And I Feel Fine)," "Drunk History"), Nick Thune ("Burning Love," "Comedy Bang! Bang!") and many more. Funk and soul group THE DAP-KINGS will serve as the house band for the evening. Joe's Pub regularly features an eclectic array of performances from highly-celebrated artists, and is where Amy Winehouse and Adele made their US concert debuts.

Additional artists to be announced shortly.

Joe's Pub Presents: A Holiday Special is produced by Show Shop. Frank Garritano ("The Concert for Valor," "Justin Timberlake + the Tennessee Kids") and Alex Coletti ("David Cross: Making America Great Again," "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony") serve as Executive Producers, with Coletti directing as well. About Joe's Pub at The Public

Named for Public Theater founder Joe Papp, Joe's Pub at The Public opened in 1998 and plays a vital role in The Public's mission of supporting young artists while providing established artists with an intimate space to perform and develop new work. Joe's Pub presents the best in live music and performance nightly, continuing its commitment to diversity, production values, community and artistic freedom. The organization also offers unique opportunities like New York Voices, an artist commissioning program that provides musicians the resources and tools needed to develop original theater works. Commissioned artists have included Ethan Lipton, Toshi Reagon, Bridget Everett, Allen Toussaint and more. In 2011, the Pub received a top-to-bottom renovation, leading to improved sightlines, expanded seating capacity and a new menu from acclaimed Chef Andrew Carmellini. With its intimate atmosphere and superior acoustics, Joe's Pub presents talent from all over the world as part of The Public's programming downtown at its Astor Place home, hosting approximately 800 shows and serving over 100,000 audience members annually.
