ADVENTURES OF BUCKAROO BANZAI ACROSS THE 8TH DIMENSION, THE (Amazon) - Kevin Smith has bowed out of the proposed small screen take on the cult classic film following MGM's copyright lawsuit. It's understood any future movement on the series is contingent on said suit being resolved. (Deadline.com)
BLACK-ISH (ABC) - Former showrunner Larry Wilmore has signed a multi-year overall deal with producer ABC Studios. Said pact covers all output from the former "The Nightly Show" host, which was axed back in August. (Deadline.com)
LANCE 2.0 (CBS, New!) - Alex McAulay has sold a single-camera comedy to the Eye about "a young couple that deals with the aftermath when the boyfriend has an accident that changes his personality and causes him to lose his impulse control." Warner Bros. Television-based That's Wonderful is behind the half-hour with the company's Jim Parsons and Todd Spiewak executive producing and McAulay as a co-executive producer. (Variety.com)
QUEEN OF THE SOUTH (USA) - Executive producer David T. Friendly has inked a two-year first-look deal with Fox 21 Television Studios. The pact will give said studio first crack at the output from his Friendly Films banner. (THR.com)

Paramount to Acquire Warner Bros. Discovery to Form Next-Generation Global Media and Entertainment Company
The transaction has been unanimously approved by the Boards of Directors of both companies and is expected to close in Q3 2026, subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory clearances and approval by WBD shareholders, with a vote expected in the early spring of 2026.
