OVATION TV'S DASHING DETECTIVE MURDOCH RETURNS! SEASON TEN OF "THE ARTFUL DETECTIVE" PREMIERES MONDAY, JANUARY 9 AT 7PM ET

SANTA MONICA, CA - November 29, 2016 - Ovation TV, America's only arts network, will debut the 10th season of audience-favorite The Artful Detective this January. Set in Toronto at the dawn of the 20th century, The Artful Detective is a one-hour drama series that explores the world of Detective William Murdoch (Yannick Bisson), a methodical and dashing detective who pioneers innovative forensic techniques to solve some of the city's most gruesome murders. All new episodes will air on Mondays at 7pm ET / 4pm PT, beginning January 9th.

As season 10 of the internationally acclaimed series begins, Det. Murdoch is proceeding with plans to build a house and create a happy life for himself and wife, Dr. Julia Ogden (Hélène Joy). But unbeknownst to the detective, Ogden is suffering silently from guilt for killing her tormentor, the psychotic Eva Pearce. In an effort to distract herself from her anxiety, Ogden is introducing her newly arrived friend Lady Suzanne Atherly (Samantha Bond, Downton Abbey) and her daughter Elizabeth to Toronto society at a debutante ball. Unfortunately, the elegant event turns deadly when one of the ladies vying to marry Toronto's most eligible bachelor is murdered. The situation worsens when a destructive fire begins to rage throughout downtown Toronto, distracting the police from the case and putting Ogden in grave danger.

The Artful Detective first launched on Ovation TV in 2013. Based on Maureen Jennings' Detective Murdoch novels entitled Murdoch Mysteries, the series first aired in Canada before coming to the US on Ovation TV. Over the past three years, the series has attracted a dedicated fanbase and has become one of Ovation TV's most popular series.

All 18 episodes of season 10 will air on Mondays at 7pm ET / 4pm PT on Ovation TV.
