About Elvis Costello

Elvis Costello has followed his musical curiosity in a career spanning more than 30 years. He is perhaps best known for his performances with The Attractions and The Imposters, as well as for concert appearances with pianist Steve Nieve and acclaimed collaborations with Burt Bacharach, The Brodsky Quartet, Paul McCartney, Swedish mezzo-soprano Anne Sofie von Otter, guitarist Bill Frisell, composer Roy Nathanson, The Charles Mingus Orchestra, record producer and songwriter T Bone Burnett and Allen Toussaint. Costello's songs have been recorded by a great number of artists. The list of performers reflects his interest in a wide range of musical styles: George Jones, Chet Baker, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Dusty Springfield, Robert Wyatt, Charles Brown, No Doubt, Solomon Burke, June Tabor, Howard Tate, the gospel vocal group The Fairfield Four and the viol consort Fretwork with countertenor Michael Chance. In 2003, he began a songwriting partnership with his wife, jazz pianist and singer Diana Krall, resulting in six songs included on her highly successful album The Girl In The Other Room. In 2004, Costello presented a series of concerts as part of the Lincoln Center Festival in New York City, during which Brad Lubman conducted the premiere concert performance of Il Sogno, Costello's first full-length orchestral work. The following year, he began work on an opera based on the life of Hans Christian Andersen for the Royal Danish Opera. In 2007, he completed Ni ghtspot, a collaboration with famed choreographer Twyla Tharp for The Miami City Ballet. And in 2008, Costello launched the inaugural season of his internationally acclaimed television series Spectacle: Elvis Costello with... in 2008. During his career Costello has received several prestigious honors, including two Ivor Novello Awards for songwriting, a Dutch Edison Award with The Brodsky Quartet for "The Juliet Letters," the Nordoff-Robbins Silver Clef Award, a BAFTA for music written for the drama series G.B.H. and a Grammy for "I Still Have That Other Girl" from Painted From Memory, his 1998 collaboration with Burt Bacharach. Elvis Costello and The Attractions were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003. Costello has also earned ASCAP's prestigious Founder's Award and an Oscar(R) nomination for the song "The Scarlet Tide" from the film Cold Mountain. Costello's autobiography, Unfaithful Music & Disappearing Ink, was published by Blue Rider Press in 2015. He followed up with a soundtrack album of music based on the book.

About Full Frontal with Samantha Bee

Hosted by Samantha Bee, noted purveyor of FAKE NEWS(TM), TBS's Full Frontal with Samantha Bee is television's #1 late-night show with adults 18-34 for the year-to-date. It also tops late-night series on ad-supported television with adults 18-49. Since premiering in February 2016, the show has rapidly grown its audience, delivering +76% higher among adults 18-34 and +98% higher among adults 18-49 in Q1 2017 than it did the same time last year. Bee took late night by storm with her bare-knuckled coverage of the 2016 Presidential election. Now the Full Frontal team is leading late-night's efforts to keep the new administration honest. Or make them honest. Or just laugh at their dishonesty. In addition to covering Washington politics, Full Frontal with Samantha Bee shines a spotlight on stories beyond the beltway, from untested rape kits in Georgia to abortion laws in Texas to diaper bills in California, as well as national tragedies such as the mass shooting in Orlando. Full Frontal also travels around the world to cover international stories, with segments from Jordan, Germany, Russia, and Scotland. Full Frontal with Samantha Bee airs Wednesdays at 10:30 p.m. (ET/PT) on TBS. The series is executive-produced by Samantha Bee, Jason Jones, Jo Miller, Miles Kahn and Tony Hernandez.
