AMERICAN IDOL (ABC) - ABC is now in negotiations with FremantleMedia North America and CORE Media Group about reviving the series. The news follows NBC's initial push back in February with original broadcaster FOX likewise said to be in on-and-off conversations. (Deadline.com)
GAME OF THRONES (HBO) - The pay channel is developing no less than four potential spin-off series for its flagship drama, which "explore different time periods of George R.R. Martin's vast and rich universe." D.B. Weiss and David Benioff will executive produce any potential project however not be involved with the writing. No specifics beyond the auspices were given: Max Borenstein on the first; Jane Goldman and George R.R. Martin on the second; Brian Helgeland on the third; and Carly Wray and George R.R. Martin on the fourth. Martin, who has an overall deal with the network, will presumably executive produce the others as well. (Deadline.com)
MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL, THE (Amazon) - Joel Johnstone and Caroline Aaron are both bound for the recently ordered drama as Archie, "the nice, good guy who is the co-worker and best friend of Midge's husband Joel Maisel (Michael Zegen)"; and Shirley Maisel, Joel's mother, respectively. (Deadline.com)
