Guest Stars Announced for BBC America's "Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency"
Season two will return with 10 episodes and premiere later this year.

GUEST STARS ANNOUNCED FOR BBC AMERICA'S "DIRK GENTLY'S HOLISTIC DETECTIVE AGENCY"

JOHN HANNAH, ALAN TUDYK, AMANDA WALSH AND ALEKS PAUNOVIC TO APPEAR IN HIGHLY ANTICIPATED SECOND SEASON

New York - May 15, 2017 - BBC AMERICA announced today the casting of John Hannah, Alan Tudyk, Amanda Walsh and Aleks Paunovic as guest stars in season two of the highly anticipated scripted original series Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency. Starring Elijah Wood and Samuel Barnett, the series is penned by Max Landis (American Ultra, Chronicle) and executive produced by Robert Cooper (Stargate Atlantis, Stargate Universe). Adapted from the wildly popular novels by Douglas Adams (The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy), season two will return with ten episodes and premiere later this year. The series is produced by AMC Studios. It will stream globally on Netflix in countries outside the US.

· John Hannah will play THE MAGE; an evil wizard who is a sociopathic nihilist intent on destroying two worlds. Credits: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Marley's Ghosts, Atlantis, A Midsummer Night's Dream Reps: ARG TALENT

· Alan Tudyk will play MR. PRIEST; a ruthless, dangerous, and violent bounty hunter working for Blackwing. Credits: Rogue One, Firefly, Serenity, Tucker and Dale vs Evil, Maze Runner, Death at a Funeral, DodgeBall Reps: The Coronel Group and attorney Bob Myman

· Aleks Paunovic will play WYGAR OAK; a dominating enforcer for the Dengdamor royal family. Credits: War for the Planet of the Apes, Van Helsing, Continuum, Supernatural Reps: SMS Talent, Trisko Talent Management, and Wright Entertainment

· Amanda Walsh will play SUZIE BORETON; an unassuming, insecure, depressed soccer mom who slowly transforms herself into a sleek evil sorceress, as beautiful and as seductive as she is vicious and deranged. Recent casting announced also included Tyler Labine (Tucker and Dale vs Evil, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Deadbeat) who will play Sherlock Hobbs, an under-stimulated, but overly enthusiastic small town sheriff who is eager to help Dirk and crew solve a new mystery. This season reunites Labine and Tudyk who co-starred in the cult film phenomenon Tucker and Dale vs Evil.

The series is set in the unexpected world of the hyper, absurd, eponymous detective Dirk Gently (Samuel Barnett). Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency, is a serialized comedic thriller that follows the bizarre adventures of eccentric "holistic" detective Dirk Gently and his reluctant assistant Todd (Elijah Wood), as they wend their way through one big, seemingly insane mystery a season, crossing unlikely paths with a bevy of wild and sometimes dangerous characters, each episode landing them a few random steps closer to uncovering the truth.

Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency is a co-production of AMC Studios, IDEATE MEDIA and IDW Entertainment, with Circle of Confusion producing for BBC AMERICA. Max Landis writes and executive produces the series with Robert Cooper serving as executive producer and showrunner. Arvind Ethan David and Zainir Aminullah for IDEATE MEDIA executive produce along with Ted Adams and David Ozer for IDW and David Alpert and Rick Jacobs for Circle of Confusion.
