A Storm is Brewing as TNT's Hit Series "The Last Ship" Returns with a Thrilling Two-Hour Premiere on Aug. 20

"The Last Ship" Ranks as One of Cable's Top 10 Summer Dramas with Adults 18-49

TNT's epic drama The Last Ship returns with a new mission to save humanity as the world continues to struggle for survival. Eric Dane (Grey's Anatomy), Bridget Regan (Agent Carter) and Adam Baldwin (Firefly, Chuck) star in this action-packed series chronicling the aftermath of a global catastrophe that nearly decimates the world's population. The fourth season of The Last Ship is slated to launch with a two-hour premiere on Sunday, Aug. 20, at 9 p.m. (ET/PT), across TNT platforms.

Over the course of the first three seasons, The Navy destroyer U.S.S. Nathan James has been the central vehicle for the discovery and distribution of the cure to the Red Flu, resulting in near global recovery. After the chilling events at the end of last season, Tom Chandler (Dane) has given up his heroic titles and responsibilities and sought solace - and anonymity -- with his family in a small fishing village in Greece. Meanwhile, Captain Slattery (Baldwin) and the crew of Nathan James have discovered that the virus has "jumped kingdoms" and now infects the world's food crops, bringing humanity to the brink of global famine. As the ship traverses the Mediterranean in search of a solution that can save the world's food supply, Chandler encounters his own enemies in Greece. His "hero's journey" becomes a modern day retelling of Homer's Odyssey.

The third season of The Last Ship reached an average of 7 million viewers per episode across multiple platforms, including 1.4 million adults 18-49. Through its first three seasons, the show has ranked one of basic cable's Top 10 summer dramas with adults 18-49.

The Last Ship also stars Charles Parnell (Pariah), Travis Van Winkle (Heart of Dixie), Marissa Neitling (Leverage), Christina Elmore (Fruitvale Station), Jocko Sims (Masters of Sex), Bren Foster (Days of Our Lives) and Kevin Michael Martin. The series is produced by Turner's Studio T in association with Platinum Dunes, whose partners - blockbuster filmmaker Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form - serve as executive producers. Co-creators Hank Steinberg and Steven Kane also serve as executive producers, along with director Paul Holahan. Kane serves as showrunner for seasons four and five, having previously served alongside Steinberg for the first three seasons.
