OVATION TV DEBUTS THE U.S. PREMIERE OF "LANDSCAPE ARTIST OF THE YEAR" STARTING JUNE 28

Popular British Competition Series Features Talented Artists at Work as They Paint Breathtaking Locations All Around the UK - From Wilderness to Historical Landmarks

Los Angeles, CA - May 30, 2017 Painting has never been more exciting as talented artists from across the UK vie to become Landscape Artist of the Year in the hit British competition series premiering in the US for the first time on Ovation TV, America's only arts network. The network will air two seasons of the series on Wednesday mornings starting at June 28 at 7:00am ET.

Amateur and professional artists from all over the UK were invited to submit their landscape paintings. From thousands of applications, six artists per episode are chosen to paint breathtaking locations all around the country - from beautiful wilderness to historical buildings and landmarks. The talented contestants face against the-clock challenges and at the end of each episode, the judges decide on the best work.

The winner of each episode will go on to compete in the semi-finals and if successful - the final. But they aren't the only ones trying to catch the judges' eye. Up to 50 more artists will descend on each location to try their luck as wild cards, and if they impress they could also see themselves in the semi-final and beyond.

Hosted by Joan Bakewell and Frank Skinner with judges Tai Shan Schierenbery, Kathleen Soriano and Kate Bryan, Landscape Artist of the Year will air back-to-back episodes starting Wednesday, June 28 at 7:00am ET.
