BRENDAN FRASER JOINS THE CAST OF FX'S "TRUST"

Fraser Joins Donald Sutherland, Hilary Swank and Harris Dickinson In 10 Episode Limited Series From Academy Award(R) Winning Team of Danny Boyle, Simon Beaufoy, and Christian Colson

LOS ANGELES, June 1, 2017 - Brendan Fraser has joined the cast of FX's Trust as James Fletcher Chace, J. Paul Getty's private investigator. Hailing from Texas, Chace is an eccentric, but also a master fixer.

The first installment, about the kidnapping of John Paul Getty III, begins production in June in London and Rome ahead of its premiere on FX in January 2018. Fraser joins a cast that includes Emmy(R) and Golden Globe(R) winner Donald Sutherland as J. Paul Getty, the great oil man and founder of the Getty family dynasty, two-time Academy Award(R) and Golden Globe(R) winner Hilary Swank as J. Paul Getty III's mother Gail Getty, and Harris Dickinson as kidnap victim J. Paul Getty III.

Equal parts family history, dynastic saga and examination of the corrosive power of money, Trust is a story that attempts to unlock the mystery at the heart of every family, rich or poor.

The 10 episode first installment of Trust tells the story of John Paul Getty III, heir to the Getty oil fortune. It is set in 1973, when the young Getty is kidnapped in Rome and his mafia captors are banking on a multi-million dollar ransom. After all, what rich family wouldn't pay for the return of a loved one? Trust charts the young man's nightmare ordeal at the hands of kidnappers who cannot understand why nobody seems to want their captive back. The Italian police think it's a prank and decline to investigate. Paul's father is lost in a heroin daze in London and refuses to answer the phone. Paul's grandfather - possibly the richest man in the world - is marooned in a Tudor mansion in the English countryside surrounded by five mistresses and a pet lion. He's busy. Only Paul's mother is left to negotiate with increasingly desperate kidnappers. Problem is, she's broke.

The limited series is being Executive Produced by Danny Boyle, Simon Beaufoy and Christian Colson. Written by Beaufoy and directed by Boyle, the first installment will be produced by FX Productions, Cloud Eight Films, Decibel Films and Snicket Films Limited.

Brendan Fraser continues to garner widespread critical acclaim for his versatile inspired performances as well as his keen eye for selecting thought-provoking material. He will next appear in Condor, an AT&T Audience Network drama produced by MGM Television, set to release in 2018. He was most recently seen in the third season of The Affair. Other recent projects include The Field and Texas Rising. Fraser also previously starred in the feature Gimme Shelter; voiced characters in two animated films as Scorch Supernova in Escape from Planet Earth; The Nut Job; and Whole Lotta Sole.

In 2010, Fraser was seen in Furry Vengeance and Extraordinary Measures. In 2008, he appeared in Journey to the Center of the Earth, the first live-action feature to be filmed entirely in 3D. Fraser is most well-known for his role in the Mummy franchise, including the 1999 smash hit action/horror adventure The Mummy, The Mummy Returns, and Mummy 3: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. Fraser has been in a string of some of the most successful independent films of the past decade including the Academy-award winning Best Picture Crash; The Quiet American; and Gods and Monsters.

Other feature credits include Inkheart, GI Joe: The Rise Of the Cobra, The Air I Breathe, George of the Jungle, Looney Tunes: Back in Action, Bedazzled, Monkey Bone, Blast From the Past, Dudley Do-Right, Mrs. Winterbourne, Encino Man, School Ties, With Honors, Airheads, The Scout, and The Twilight of the Golds.

Fraser made his Broadway debut starring in the comedy Elling. Fraser's diverse theatre roster includes his 2001 appearance in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof at the Lyric Theatre in London, and in Four Dogs and a Bone at the Geffen Playhouse.

Born in Indianapolis and raised in Europe and Canada, Fraser has been dedicated to honing his craft since an early age of 12 and began attending theater when his family lived in London. He attended high school at Toronto's Upper Canada College and received a BFA in acting from the Actor's Conservatory, Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle.

Fraser is represented by Gersh, Brillstein Entertainment and Felker Toczek Suddleson Abramson.
